The last two years has shown me that I could really use a larger than average cooler. I'm not well versed on sizes, so I don't know quarts. I just know that's a big cooler.

I've bought parking lot chicken, backyard beef, quartered a couple of pigs and deer, and those times, I had to use two, sometimes three, coolers. I would like to have just one for episodes like that.

Would a 120qt (insert brand here) from a big box store suffice, or should I be looking for something more spectacular?

I'm staring at an Igloo for $116 on Amazon right now.

I’ve had a 120 Qt Igloo for years. It’s a good size cooler. When it is full it’s a 2 person job to move it around. We use it to chaperone weekend volleyball tournaments. Over 3 days or so the ice will melt and need to be replenished. If you can use blocks instead of little cubes.

Oh I can help here!!! @kcult

A quart is a unit of measure.

8 fluid oz in a cup
2 cups in a pint.
2 pints in a quart.
4 quarts in a gallon.

25.6oz in a fifth.

This past spring I went to Cape Lookout surf fishing for the week. I bought a 120qt Colman Coastal cooler for $75 from Ebay (much less than in store and I don't think its a counterfeit from what I could tell). It arrived in the OEM box, nothing fancy. It worked ok for the week. I left it on the covered porch and maybe added a bag or two the whole trip after the initial top off of 3-4 bags. I left the drain open as I didn't want water to build up. For short hauls like you're talking about it should work. I will say I will stay away from Igloo, the old stuff was good but new stuff is crap wrt the normal coolers. I know nothing of the rotomolded stuff like mentioned above.

Looks like they're still selling them https://www.ebay.com/itm/120-Qt-Coa...lation-Outdoor-Ice-Chest-Fishing/393107288231

I have the 150 Qt Max cold from Sam’s. Can usually get 2 deer in it quartered up. Have used it for week long camping trips too. Great cooler.

The thing that has kept me for those huge size coolers. Is then I have to move the darn things around...

I chose to just have a few coolers because even loaded, I can still move them where I want and need. Even if you are a super human who can pick up a full 150qt cooler. You can't reach both handles at once...

Every time I almost upgrade to a big single, I remember that.

Easier with a big one to store and roast the neighbors once the ballon goes up.

Unless something changed when clicking that link with my phone, that cooler went to $110. Dang it!

But I think I snoozed, then losed.

I'm not horribly concerned about moving it, since I want it for a specific reason, and it'll be moved once, then sit.

I want to keep my smaller coolers free and don't really want to buy another fridge for animools.

If its just going to sit and never be moved, why not just find an old chest freezer, put a bulkhead fitting in it for a drain, and use it as needed?

Find you a functioning drink machine, Coke or Pepsi, gut out the can holder things, then add a rod (left to right or vice versa) in the top to hang deer from and add wooden removeable shelves for other stuff. I feel like talked about this before.

Fess up, you're buying one to sleep in, aren't you?
I had an uncle who in order to keep his bedding at his cabin clean when he wasn’t there, was going to buy a scratch and dent coffin to sleep in! He was going to fix his bed and sleep in it and when he left, just close the lid until he came back. He wanted my Dad to go in with him because they were cheaper when buying 2 of them!

Well, it's not that it would never be moved. It just wouldn't be carted around when full.

I also have that one and we put all the meat from a 230 lb hog in it when we picked it up at the meat processor
