My son just finished this one. It is a hoss. Micarta scales that he textured. A2 steel. Blade length 8“. Overall 13“. Heat treated to Rockwell 58. Handmade kydex sheath.

He plans on carrying it in Montana when we go backpacking in the Bob again this summer. I’ve asked him how much to make me one. He hasn’t answered yet. Lol

Can't believe someone hasn't already posted this........

.

I'd like to buy something from him but when I searched for JW Custom Knives and I get a maker Tulsa OK.

I was going to hold off on saying something, because I don't want my words to ring hollow since Steve and I are friends...

Josh makes one hell of a knife. I have quite a few custom and mid-tech knives, far above JW's price point, and the attention to detail in the knife he made for me is light years beyond some folks who have been doing this for decades and have some weight behind their name. I gave him cart blanche to make a knife for me within a few parameters, and what he produced was a well thought out blade with tremendous attention to fit, finish, and detail.

I don't want to big him up too much, because he is young and has plenty to learn, but if stays at it, I can say he will be one of the big names within the next 10 years. This is me speaking as a collector and hobbyist, not as somebody that knows the boy.

It's also worth noting that if you like to know where your spend your money, he's got his shit together far better than the majority of "adults" I deal with on a daily basis, myself included.

I encourage anybody to hit up Steve's booth on a Saturday and speak with Josh about a knife.

If anyone wants his contact info, PM me. I didn’t expect so much interest. I’ll pony up for a vendor banner if need be. Really was just showing off my son’s work because I am a proud dad. Wasn’t trying to drum up business for him.:)

Word of mouth. Best advertising there is. Wish I had his skills or at least lived close to him. I could.beg for a chance to learn.

I'd probably get him to make some for me. @opaul is currently making a couple for me to give as gifts. I don't need anything that big though. Gotta support the NC makers.

@cubrock, I work with Josh he’s extremely talented and has unparalleled maturity and work ethic for his age. You should be a very proud dad we need more like him.

Cool! I didn’t know you guys worked together.

And, thank you. I am very proud of the man he is.
