Bill to legalize marijuana

AK did it while I lived there. Kept some of the BS out of the court system. I'm for it, NC will manage to F it up somehow if it passes though.

It needs to be legalized nationally just like alcohol. If it remains illegal at the federal level it would still be a disqualifier on the 4473.

Actually the states need to get a backbone and tell the federal government to eff off, that they’re overstepping their boundaries and have no jurisdiction in this matter.

I’ll settle for federal legalization.

And we’d find out really fast how many people really give a crap about that form. Not everyone views law as a religion.

It would be a good thing for local law enforcement and courts to have marijuana legalized. The time and taxpayer dollars spent on policing and enforcing laws against marijuana could be better spent on real crime. I worked in a local jail for 10+ years and couldn't begin to count the number of people that were arrested for having small amounts of a substance that really isn't any more of a public nuisance than alcohol. We rarely got inmates in for "weed" driving and causing wrecks, but there were lots of arrests made for "drunk driving" with property or people damage. I neither drink or use weed, but I am not opposed to anyone doing either one if no harm is caused to others. Federal level legalization would be ideal, but I respect individual states rights to decide how their citizens feel about the issue and make laws accordingly.

How do you feel about a company being able to test and fire you for "weed" use even if it is legal.

I have said this before and will say it again. I hav never tried but know a lot of people ho have and still do. I'm 100% wish it would pass. I'm much rather my friends and family use it for medical and recreational use. Hell of a lot safer than some manmade drug that the Gov says is legal to take for certain ailments.
Safer for the public then alcohol is.

.........i dont see the big deal. From what i remember.....it.was super popular when i was much younger, and im guessing it still is. Another thing i remember........i have seen many a mean drunk, but not a mean pothead. They just want laugh, eat and sleep.

Seeing how many people are finding all sorts of pain an inflammation relief from even CBD oil, used responsibly, I can see it being helpful to people.

Just one minor edit and you've pretty much summed up what ought to be the only law anyone should be obligated to follow.

Agreed. Many people believe that to be true, yet it takes enormous effort to get them to vote this way. The marijuana debate is just one of many issues that remind me why I left the Republican party. I’m not in the business of running other adults lives, and I’d like to be extended the same courtesy by my government.

I guess it's a step in the right direction. Legalization should be the goal. This doesn't say anything about how you legally get said weed. Nothing about legal growing or distribution that would eliminate the crime associated with it...

If only their was a state that was already equipped for mass production and could really benefit from legalizing it? Oh yea the state that use to pump out tons of tobacco that already has the infrastructure to grow, harvest, and then package and sell it.

The big thing is how to measure the amount someone has in their bloodstream, think like a breathalyzer at a roadside stop.

I worked in the prison system for 10 years...... I'd much rather deal with inmates that had gotten some weed thrown over the fence than some that had made some hooch in a trash bag.
I'm firmly convinced that marijuana is much better for individuals and society than alcohol is. I say legalize it.

My only difficulty in supporting is the hateful side of me doesn't want it to pass just to spite irritating, blathering on, know it all stoners that harp on it constantly; they are up there with atheists in regards to being sanctimonious jerk offs.

But yeah, why not.

Do any of y'all ever plan on filling out another 4473?

'Bout time. In my line of work, I would much rather deal with people using marijuana versus alcohol. There are several other reasons I feel like it's a good idea as well.

Excellent gateway drug..... no thanks...
It was a gateway for me, BECAUSE government, schools, etc said how horrible it was. I closely watched other kids use it, they became pleasant and silly. I tried it and saw the authorities had lied, what else did they lie about?
The most honest anti-dope ad was the one with the 30 year old still living with mom.
It kills ambition., I haven’t had any since ‘90

It hasn't eliminated the crime that goes along with it in Co.

Kind of like people who start pages long threads about alcohol?
