Any binoculars that work better with glasses than others? I currently have a pair of Leupold BX-1 McKenzie and I can only get them close enough to see maybe 10-15 yards field of view. I can take my glasses down when using the binoculars but immediately has to but my glasses back on to see clear and it takes my eyes a second to readjust. When deer hunting in thick cover, I need something better and quicker.

Any suggestions? Also, I can’t wear contacts so that’s out of the question. Thanks

I have the same problem. I have to take my glasses off to look through the binoculars and then put them back on. Watching to see suggestions.

My suggestion is to get your eyes fixed. I had Lasik back in the day. Went from nearly blind to seeing hair on gnats hindquarters. Insurance didn't cover it, but eat pork and beans to pay it off. Worth every penny.
Well my wife is on docket to get hers done first. She’s the blindest of the 2 of us. May be looking for more than binoculars once she gets her eyes fix and can see what she actually married. 😬

You want long eye relief binocs. I found this article with suggestions:

Try flipping the edges of your eye cups back on themselves. Do it when they are warm and pliable. I had to do this with my sunglasses when sight fishing busting bait balls at the coast.

My Leupolds don’t have eye cups or I would

make your own eye cups from an old bicycle inner tube
or something similar with the dimensions necessary.

i have even done it with big rubber bands.

@tod0987 is talking about removing the eye cups from the equation so your eyes can get closer to the binoculars to lesser the field of vision

I haven’t researched LASIK in several years. Has the surgery advanced enough that they can fix the need for bi-focal lenses yet? When it first come out they couldn’t, so I never got it done.

Still can’t. You’re still need readers if you’re old. Just how it is.

After almost 20 years since I had my done I’m still really close to 20/20. But I started using cheaters to read within the last year.

Better than bifocals though. You can ditch glasses and just use drug store cheats to read.

I need to go ahead and do it though.

well, obviously i did not understand.
however my Leupolds work well with glasses,
with or without eyecups deployed.
so...i guess i am not any help at all.

Binos up glasses go up

Binos down glasses come down

Nearly seamless for me. Been doing it all my life, never take the glasses off, they just move with the binos. Never lost a deer neither, I tend to see them a long ways off this way.

Ok I know it has been a while since I hunted but I gotta ask. If you are hunting in thick cover what do you need binoculars for?

Haha legit question. I hunt on a pipeline. Part of the woods are pretty thick and the deer like to travel in that that cover. And it’s more like patches a thick cover. I like to be minimum on my movement and so I don’t like to use my scope on my rifle as binoculars. If you have deer in several directions then it’s easier to bring binoculars up to your face rather than a rifle.

Unfortunately, that isn't an option for some of us. Lasik doesn't fix old tired eyes.
