Blackberry Wine

View attachment 74201 I know I know the best stuff is the homemade stuff, but I bought this to toss on the hurricane survival pile... anyone had it? It’s gonna be my first try of blackberry wine ever... better suggestions?
That would be good over some vanilla ice cream.
 
Never had blackberry. I have tried several different wines lately and as much as it saddens me to say, I guess I am just too white trash to really enjoy the higher end or drier wines. I am a Duplin County Vineyards guy, I love the stuff. As close to homemade as I have ever tried.
 
It was pretty tasty! I prefer my wine and cider dry, in the English style for cider. It just seems to go well with the amount of alcohol in wine when it’s drier. Blackberry wine seems to fall somewhere in between wine and cider.... if I made my own, I’d probably use less sugar... maybe even just start with the natural sugars of the fruit and see where that goes. The best use for this particular stuff is probably what @Geezer suggested! Alcoholic blackberry floats may be in my future haha. I haven’t had any yet but I imagine classic NC wines like Muscadine would be too sweet for me too. I wouldn’t say it’s white trash to dislike dry booze... maybe you’re just more culturally Southern than me haha. Y’all like sweet everything! @Infamous1
