usually I don't have a problem finding my arrows. It's the darn deer that needs to be traceable. Maybe a nock that comes off in a pass-thru shot and stays inside the deer would be a better idea

Nice. Little bastards have gone 100 meters and fond the thickest crap imaginable to lie down and die in. And never in the direction they first take off in till you lose sight of them. And it's dark by the time you start searching.

Is making a good vital shot and actually tracking blood a lost art?

^^^^Yeah...most likely.

I usually carry a roll of flourescent trail tape with me. Every spot I find blood, I'll affix a 3-4" section of trail tape a few feet above it on a tree branch.

If the blood trail goes cold, I'll retrace my steps back to the first spot I found blood, following the trail tape.

When you start back at the beginning and look at the "path" of the tape, it can give you an idea of which direction the deer went.

I've found several that way.

I use toilet paper to do the same thing.

That works as well....

Only problem is, if you've got other hunters out there, especially ones who do not take the time to identify what they're shooting at, that toilet paper may be mistaken for a tail.

No. And suck it. Every damn dear I've shot with an arrow went through both lungs and tr heart. And the Bastard's still went 100 meters or more.

I found every one of them but they only bleed a lot when they stop. Otherwise it's a drop here and there.

If there was a cheap, easy and reliable way to just pull out my phone and say there the effer it would have saved me hours over the years I bow hunted.

Oddly enough I'd still teach my boy to do it the old fashion way. He'll be using a push mower too just like I did.

But I have a riding lawnmower now and don't feel the need to beat my clothes with a rock in the Creek either.
