I really enjoy pocket carry. Recently got a new BG 380 stainless engraved version, date code on box is May 2021. Took it to the range today to feed it a couple hundred rounds for the first time. After today I definitely trust it, perfect bangs with federal fmj and critical defense.
So, the slide locks back on empty but when I drop the mag, the slide stop releases. Annoying but not the worst scenario. Google revealed a forum post saying they sent it back for warranty, returned all fixed up; stating the invoice said s&w replaced the slide stop mechanism.
If you’re reading this, would your recommendation be to send it back and wait?
Buy a new slide stop and spring and install them myself?
Not even worry about it? Because if I ever need to use a pocket 380, the slide closing on mag drop is the least of my worries?

Midwest Gun Works has both the slide stop spring and slide stop for under $10. It's pretty simple to break down if you have a proper roll pin punch. I would remove the FCG and check to see if the slide stop spring has gotten bent/out of place first.

How’s the trigger? Any way to improve it without “major” mods? How’s yours?

I’m fine with it. Nice and smooth. I’ve had an older BG 380 that wasn’t as nice. Bullets went where I wanted them to. It’s not a range gun for me so the trigger isn’t a concern, but it’s smooth and clean.
Seems there is only the Galloway precision trigger kit; I guess they’re out of fletcher nc.

The best way to improve the trigger is to dry fire a lot with a snap cap. The biggest loss of accuracy is the long reset, which just requires practice.

Galloway is all good stuff.

Oh great. Now something I'm going to have to go to the range and test. Wait. That sounds like fun. Carried mine this a.m. on my walk. Can't wait for more early mornings in the 50's so I can carry my commander size 1911 in shoulder rig under my hoodie.
