Things to do on a Sunday instead of work

Spend a ridiculous amount of time taping a bunch of garbage to a Glock:

Then wrap it all in plastic:

Contemplate putting it in a box since this is where the work begins...

Looks good. What kind of clip is that jig for? Is that different than kydex? If so how/why?
Bladetech.
Kydex is a thermoplastic, the outerlayer is holstex which offers textures more traditional to holsters.

Roughed out, major mechanical sanding probably done.
Screw holes not parallel to slide or bottom edge, that's a pisser, not sure I want to sweep the edge toward the muzzle that much.

Curious if either of you ever did one with a light channel? If so what did you use to block out for the light? A technique I saw was to mold it as normal with the light and then heat it up with a heat gun and build it by slowly pulling out the gun. Thoughts?

Well it's a holster, or something that wants to be, not real happy with it, but I wanted to give working with two layers a try. I guess maybe now I know why some "professional" holsters made this way look worse than the first plastic I ever folded, it's a bit of a pain and you can pretty well forget adjusting anything with a heat gun.

I don't know man, maybe the pics arent showing all the flaws you're unhappy with but that looks pretty cool to me. I make my own as well but just for me, I don't sell them so I don't have to worry if they aren't perfect, but I like the two color wrap how you did that.

Don't laugh, or do, I don't care, I made this IWB taco type a year or two ago, only light bearing I've done, I split and carved up some PVC to make a channel, taped it in place tight. Some guys do the same but run a screw through it to clamp it to the light, then you have that goofy screw head bump. I wouldn't do the heat gun method, too time consuming and probably gonna look worse than this abomination. If I made another light bearing I'd be tempted to go pancake style, definitely wouldn't bother with the bump I never put a tensioning screw in anyway.

Thanks. That's all I do, no sales. I rush, get bored, and typically don't like the way things turn out.
I was pretty happy with the one I made my wife last year or whatever, pretty much all the rest of them I just nitpick to death.

I have a press, and all kinds of kydex making gear if you need a shop to do a project in. Ive dabbled a lot in making all kinds of stuff. Mi Casa, Su Casa
Thanks for the offer. I built a press years ago and have toyed with it here and there ever since. I shoulda been casting bullets today instead.

Showoff.

you shoulda been up here showing me how to wire two cool ass LED work lights on muh trailer.

Thats legit right there.

You have my number...
Your Ford should have an ignition hot on the 7-way, pull the cover back on the trailer plug strip and stuff a wire, find the other end under the tape at the bottom of the gooseneck... easy.

The couple I have attempted involved carving down PVC to get a channel. You can buy mold guns that are blocked out now, but they run about $75 or so. The light and channel are molded onto the gun.

@Beef15, ifitthermoplastics is getting ready to release a dual color kydex. They sent out an email asking what colors combos folks wanted first about a week ago.

Interesting. Will be sure to check. Haven't opened any of their emails in a while. Thanks for the heads up.
