Ended up with an extra set of grips after I sold the two Rossi 720s I used to have. I found them in a drawer a few weeks ago. I was too late to get that 720 that Ralph snagged recently, but I ran across this Interarms-era 357. The seller said it was a factory ported model. I can’t find much evidence that it’s a factory model, but I guess it could be. I’m kind-of a S&W DA revolver snob, but I’ve got a soft spot for Interarms Rossi’s. Two of my all-time favorite guns have been a Rossi 518 22lr and a Rossi 720 44 Special. Anyway, what a difference a set of grips makes - to me, anyway

Buy a gun just because you have a set of grips to fit it? Makes perfect sense to me.
The Interarms era was a good time. Interarms imported some good stuff back then.

Not because of grips but back when kid’s college funds were not looming I bought a gun because somebody gave me a nice set reloading dies ...

People like to knock those Rossi's but my first revolver was an Interarms 38 Special, M335 or something like that. Solid little J-frame looking gun.

Still carry it on hikes sometimes but it mostly lives in a kitchen cupboard.

I am looking at a gun because I have other mags that will fit it. It really isn't a logical gun for me, but with enough internet and Whiskey I can talk myself into it.

I was tempted by that 240.00 Shield in the BST. Not because I need another shield or another single stack 9. Just because then I would have two guns that take the same mags. I'm a dork for that concept.

I got a good deal in a gun a while back because it didn't have a magazine with it. I knew that I had 4 of them at home.

I've bought reloading equipment and a gun for the caliber just because I kept finding brass for it. About to do it again as I have acquired a ton of .380 brass.

So, yea, I know where you are coming from. :D

Bought a gun just because I had the grips for it...yes done that. Ruger Redhawk and Super Redhawk.

Since we are talking about Interarms Rossi...I just may have had a set of Rossi factory wood grips that I thought might fit a Rossi 720 .44. And possibly that may have encouraged me to buy the gun. Maybe

That is a damn fine revolver! Pinned barrel and all!

I've never bought a gun because I had grips, but one random extra AR part grows into a complete new rifle it seems....

Don't make me buy a dozen mag catches and sprinkle them around your house mate.

They called me Johnny ARseed....

That is exactly what I am thinking. If I buy something idiotic I'll be sure to post pics so everybody can hammer me.

That is a sharp looking 720. Clean and shiny. I’ve never seen stag grips for a Rossi; but if they’re out there, you’ll find them

I bought a gun once because I sent one in for service and wanted a substitute. And it was on sale. No, it wasn't my, EDC, BUG Or BUBUG. I just felt the need to have one in the caliber.

I'm so dumb I sold a gun cause I decided I didn't need it and proceeded to buy the same exact gun two years later cause I decided I actually did need it.

My father is notorious for things like this. His move is very similar to yours. He has bought bulk ammo lots on a couple of occasions from estate sales and other places. Of course sometimes there will be instances when a new caliber he doesn't own is bundled up in the lot. Like a 10 gauge, for example, a true must have round for target and sporting purposes. At that point its only reasonable to say you HAVE to have a new gun to match the 1/4 full box of 10 gauge shells.

This same reasoning has also been applied to Cheaper than Dirt super deep ammo discounts with equal effectiveness...
