Never been much of a knife person but saw a vendor selling this Helle and couldn’t pass it up. I’ve always been a fan of European tools and guns ao I took the chance. I really like this triple laminated blade amd love the way it holds its sharpness. Of course I’ve only cut some wood with it and a streak.

I also bought an auto by Georgia Ops. Very nice carry knife. I like the blade opening safety switch. It came open in my pocket before using the safety. Handle is G10. Now to learn more about knife laws which are very vague in NC. Not going to worry about compliance. If you can fire bomb cop cars then I’m good carrying an auto on my pocket.

I forgot about this thread. Mine looks exactly the same as above. I’d like something simple to sharpen a few knives including these last two. Would a stone suffice?
@frakncylons @Elenaidan @MacEntyre

PS- the gun show vendor’s home is Clemmons. He should be at most of the shows in central and western NC.

@thrillhill should be able to tell you what is the beat option for sharping them.

Simple solutions can be hard to find when talking to knife guys. I think there are as many opinions on sharpening knives as there are arguments 9mm vs. .45acp. A stone will work and I have many that I have used in the past. I eventually got lazy and purchased a sharpener and a knife steel. Whatever you get, stay away from anything that generates much heat. Diamond stones have come down in price. Woodcraft in Raleigh has some nice ones at good prices. People sharpening chisels really like them. They have enough grades to get you the desired sharpness. You can probably order them from Klingspor Wood Working as well.

I’ve been using this knife in the kitchen mostly. Cutting fruits, meats, and carving my steaks like a Viking. Think I’m going to buy their fillet knife as well.

Although I like this knife it is not the razor edge of the Helle Eggen I have. No way to make the sharp edge and retain the flex needed for a filet knife. Now I have a reason to go catch some mountain trout.

@Clinet is a bad influence. The man has some very expensive knives. Finally he shows me a knife I can afford and I like. I drove 10 minutes and made the purchase.
CobraTec out the front, 3.5”, D2, double blade, with glass breaker (or skull).
