Got a tax refund for the first time in years and decided to splurge on myself. Been wanting a 1911 in stainless and settled for this Springfield Armory Range Officer in 9mm.....I know, I know.....it's not 45 but I consolidated all my pistols to 9mm several years ago. Super excited and can't wait to get to the range and try it out.

Sweet little pistola!!

I bought my Springfield back in 1983,, its the only gun Ive stayed with all these years. As you can see by my Avitar, its been improved on more then a few times..

PLEASE, please, please let me know how it runs. I have the worst luck with 1911's in 9mm, but I want another in 9mm.
My Range Officer in 45acp the way I have it outfitted is arguably my favorite pistol, even compared to my Wilson Combat CQB.

Wow! I thought "my first 1911" was gonna be a Rock Island!

Good fer you! My first 1911 was a Springfield... wishin' I'da kept it. Now I have Colt Commanders, Dan Wessons and Colt Sistemas. I'm not missin' the Springfield too much.

For me, 9mm means Hi Power, an' 45 means 1911.

Just say "No". Go ahead, just try it. No way, Jose. The government has done multiple studies over the decades and determined, without a doubt, that owning one 1911 is the equivalent to taking just one hit of Fentanyl. You have joined the ranks of addicted 1911 enthusiasts everywhere.

You have but two choices now.
1. You may join "1911 owners anonymous", attend their meetings and work your way through the program. Unfortunately, the success rate is a miserly 3%.
2. Give in to the devil and temptation. Buy new grips, springs, sights, etc. Then you will have all those parts you can interchange with 1911s number 2 through 50 that are sure to follow.
3. Save yourself before it is too late. Send that Springer to me so as to avoid even looking, fondling and (gasp) shooting that beauty.
Obviously, choice three is the most logical.

Congrats on joining the mob. Enjoy that Range Officer!

I like to keep me own 1911s close to the original JMB specs, eschewing beavertails, skeletonized triggers, full length guide rods, beveled mag wells, accessory rails and 8 round magazines.

Congrats, you will never feel whole without having a 1911 after the first one.

This thread couldn't have come at a better/worse time...I too have a wee bit of cash burning a hole in my wallet and I have debated between that .357 smith in the BST, saving for a Scorpion, buying another CZ...and now...buying another 1911...because...sexy

How ‘bout the PC1911 in the BST?

Congratulations on your 1911.Over 100 years old and still going strong. Now you need one in .45 ACP. Sometimes old fat and slow is a good thing.

i bought 2 kimbers 2 colts from a friend going through divorce with 4 kids 2 colts have never been fired the kimbers look as new, one is a 9 mm not going to shoot colts havnt had time to shoot kimbers

Used to work with a guy like him in NYC, easy to understand him. Great videos.

No beaver asses or full length guide rods to be found on mine if given a choice. I have changed over 50 full length guide rods over the years to regular ones.

And "high tech" means betamax. :p
Betawhat? o_O

Actually, our family furniture company manufactured the walnut cabinets for Sony’s first Betamax console TV. I vividly remember sharing a laugh with my dad when we noticed the specs called out:

All joints shall be grued and screwed. :D

The Betamax is a perfect example where the inferior product won out. Betamax was superior, except for length of recording time when introduced, to VHS in every way except marketing.
