A couple of friends want to do a taste test. They have been on the Bourbon Tour, but I have not. Might be six to ten different bourbons involved, not overly cheap or expensive (not Pappy Van Winkle stuff).

So far I have:

Woodford Reserve
Makers Mark
Jim Beam Black
Knob Creek
Basil Hayden's
Russell's Reserve
Jefferson's
Elijah Craig
Eagle Rare

Anything else come to mind?

Some of my favorites:
Blanton's
Buffalo Trace
Baker's
Booker's

And for comparison... (Better than what they get credit for, IMHO)
Evan Williams Black Label
Old Grandad

Jefferson's makes quite a few varieties. You owe it to yourself to try Jefferson's Ocean Cask Strength.

Add Larceny to your list.

I got a bottle of Old Grand Dad Bonded a couple weekends ago. It did not last long at all. It's very underated and my current favorite.

You are getting to my weak point talking about bourbons. Every time I get an extra dollar or 3 I am trying a different one. Got a bottle of Pappy in a drawing that I will not open.
Bib & Tucker
Long Branch
Yellowstone
Tin Cup
Marker 46
Old Weller
I had to take the picture with the Pappy

Everybody has their favorites but that's a damn good list. I've had all but one of those and would ( and have ) buy all again. First two on the list are ALWAYS in my house.

Where did you find the Old Weller? Love that stuff, I just can't find it local to me.

Average Joe and DCGallim, I picked it up at our local package store here in Savannah. Bran Not sure how long ago.
As you can see I have not drank much of it because it is a little stronger than I prefer.

Have you tried the Long Branch? got it this week.
The Yellowstone I picked up at a Costco in Augusta, GA for maybe 39.95. When I see it here it is 59.95. I am very impress with it.

I was going to also - maybe - throw in some Old Crow if I can put it in a flask so nobody can see the bottle. It'd be a hoot if that were to be the favorite!

I like fighting cock, i guess i need to try some "good stuff".

No I haven’t tried Long Branch. Or Yellow Stone. But it looks like a trip to GA is in my future!

Average Joe, let me know when you are heading down this way. Bring your guns!

When I back at the package store I will see if there is still any on the shelf.

Average Joe, I stopped by the package shop tonight and asked about the Old Weller and they said that they get a box in maybe once a year.

McKenna 10 yr is good and only about $38 also readily available in NC. Weller special reserve is good and only around $25 but hard to find. Bookers batch #2 is good and around 129 proof but a little pricey $85. Eagle rare, and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof are other good ones, again if you can find them. The problem is that a lot of the Buffalo Trace brands are hard to find in NC.

The bourbon bug has hit me hard, I have 16 open bottles of different stuff open but continue to buy bottles any chance I can get.

If you get to tasting scotch instead of bourbon I’ll have a list for you. Never been a huge fan of bourbon.

Same here but I keep a few on hand for my friends who can't handle Scotch :)

I went through a Scotch phase....back when I was a pretentious 22 year old know-it-all. Now I truly enjoy a good bourbon with a splash of water or even (GASP!) mixed as a Manhattan.
