Hi!

I have quite a bit of brass I want to sell but I need to figure out the going rate first and I know we had a section "what's it worth" but I can't seem to find it.

I have range brass, nicely tumbled clean (thanks Toprudder!) but otherwise not further processed, probably several hundred casings of:

9mm Luger
40 S&W
45 ACP (mixed primer sizes)
223/5.56

What is that sort of brass going for right now?

Head on over to the appraisals forum

He can't. It's been moved to the members area and he's not a supporting member.

Which could be easily rectified, by becoming one.

Otherwise, check out the reloading area of BST to see what others are getting.

It’s coming down and becoming more available. I just picked up 2k rounds of 9mm off another forum that was as clean as new for $75 delivered

May I ask what the logic is behind making the appraisals restricted to supporting members? I am just curious.

Look around. Do you see a wall of ads? Are you bombarded with flashing gifs selling you stuff?

This site is member supported, meaning we pay to keep the lights on. “Traffic” does not drive ad revenue.

I believe (y’all correct me if I’m wrong) that after the influx of new buy/sell/trade users when Armslist started charging fees, too many people were using the Appraisals section to bypass the classifieds rules.
Since the you must post a price/value in the classifieds, people were posting in Appraisals as a way to get offers on an item. It is a nice unintended consequence that you sometimes sell or buy something based on an Appraisal post - in fact, both have happened to me. But it shouldn’t be the goal of posting an Appraisal.
So the thought was that by moving the Appraisals section to the paid members section, more folks would follow the rules.

Thank you that is exactly the explanation I was looking for. It did seem counter-intuitive that I can buy and sell but not ask for a price but with this explanation on what actually happened that makes sense!

I was not questioning the concept of a member supported site, just why this particular section was cordoned off. The other gentleman replying provided the answer so the question is settled. I have no issue with a member supported site per se. In fact I just updated to supporting member, although on the modest level.
