Would likely have been caught months earlier if hospitals and doc offices hadn't shut down in MA for everything that isn't COVID.Hang in there @fishgutzy and be as positive as you can. lung C is survivable. I have done it twice. It definitely takes it's toll, but I'm still here to be a pain the ass!
Prayers for you, your BIL and all your family!

Fingers crossed though.

The End is Nigh.
Ines was just transferred to home hospice care. He has been in the hospital for the last 3 weeks. Lots of transfusions because his hemoglobin was so low. Cancer has spread far too much. Nothing more they can do.
Family had to talk his daughter out of trying to take him to Boston, from PR.
His wife, had a debilitating stroke last year that left her immobile, and she has dementia. The daughter lives with them and does most of the care when she isn't at work.
Travel restrictions complicate family trying to fly there to help out in with hospice care.
Indeed. Some of his sons are still in PR, close by. He has several adult grandsons that can help out too.Yeesh. What she must be going through....
In Ines' case it is the type of lung cancer that strikes men in families with a history of breast cancer. Also complicated by the stomach cancer.Hang in there @fishgutzy and be as positive as you can. lung C is survivable. I have done it twice. The treatment he has received gave him 2 more Christmases than doctors at St. Elizabeth's in Boston gave him.God I am sorry for what you and yours are going through!
Obviously I was blessed with an earlier diagnosis and good treatment both times. Pure luck!
My best to you and your family sir.
And thank God for that! The treatment he has received gave him 2 more Christmases than doctors at St. Elizabeth's in Boston gave him.
