Brought home a couple S&W rescues...help me clean them up! *New Pics*

On the stainless guns.....

I've had good luck buffing out shiny spots on Ruger brushed stainless finish revolvers using a green scotch brite pad. It mimics the original Ruger finish. Now these are smiths and typically come a little more highly polished but with the surface rust and scratches you could use the scotch brite to do a uniform "brushed" finish once the rust is gone.
I've done this on the flats on a Springfield Loaded 1911. Looks factory and hides all the nicks. Did it a little bit on a Super Redhawk Alaskan. Did great.

So much bad info in one thread.... OMG....
The 14/19 barrel swap won't work out well, the rifling twist on the 14 is faster than on the 19, bad accuracy. And you can't shoot Magnums in the 14.
Bronze wool I agree with, Flitz, not so much. If you're going to use Scotchbrite you need to used something as lubricant, water, oil, something, anything, just don't use it dry. Stop screwing with household Scotchbrite, go to an automotive supply house that has paint and body supplies and buy their stuff, much more consistent, higher quality and better selection. It comes in 8.5 x 11 sheets and can be cut with an old pair of scissors.
This is the grit size breakdown for Scotchbrite....
Dark Gray, 150
Brown, 240
Maroon, 320
Green, 600
Light Gray, 800
White, 1500

WARNING.
Everything that looks cooper or bronze in color ain't necessarily so. Ask me how I know. Make sure of what you are buying before you use it.
Side note: White Diamond is awesome stuff.

Tim, that M - 60 looks really nice, now all you need it a "T" grip and a set of stag grips to ready for Saturday night:D. Enjoy that guy.

I never did care for the T Grip. But, if I keep it I’ll be lining up a nice set of stocks for sure!

Can Not Possibly shoot worse than any 19 ever made. They shoot pretty good. I never said Anything about shooting Magnums in the 14 cylinder. It would make a great looking gun to me. A better looking one than a 15 because of the enclosed ejector rod housing. I have shot Thousands of wadcutters out of 19s and they will shoot knots. This is purely for cosmetics and will NOT hinder accuracy one Whit. You are wrong and you are giving bad info yourself.

Well, the M14 cleaned up pretty good for a one that's seem some range time. I'm not sure which is better...a 50+ year safe queen that's never been fired or a 50+ year work horse that shows some honest wear. This one will definitely never be prom king, but I like it.

A little bronze wool and lots of Hoppes on the metal, some Ballistol and a toothbrush for the stocks did wonders.

For the blued revolver: rub the rust with the edge of an old nickle coin. Put a bit of oil on the rust area as you rub the rust. It will take the rust off and not damage the remaining finish.

Nice looking revolvers Tim!
That 66 is just what you need for your neck of the woods.
