Numerous people have requested pictures of a few of the knives I have made. This is NOT a solicitation to sell. The knives pictured have already been sold and delivered to the new owners.

First let me explain how I “make” them. (I have help) I have a Bladesmith friend in LA that water jet cuts the profiles from the steel that I send him along with instructions and patterns. Water jetting the profile keeps the steel from being heated during cutting which makes it much easier for me to shape. Once shaped I send them back to him for heat treating to the hardness of my choosing. When I get them back I finish grind to the final product design. Then the scales, liners, pins and guard of the customers choosing are installed onto the blank and shaped.

I farm this work out because of the equipment required as well as the knowledge required to operate said equipment. I can’t begin to fathom what a water jet machine would cost….

Onto to the knives!! I made my first knife at age 12 or 15 from a blade I took from another knife and used a table leg to fashion the handle. Thankfully I still have that knife and look at it to remind me where I came from. I am NOT a world-famous maker and the only place you’ll even find me mentioned is in a blade makers directory. Customers come to me from the referrals of past customers.

My chosen specialty is smaller knives, usually under 7” as they are intended to be EDC type knives that are actually USED and not sitting in a safe or sock drawer. I sold my first knife in 1975 and according to my records I have sold over 300 knives since the inception. Not a lot but this is a hobby, NOT a business…..

This is my most popular pattern and a favorite of mine. The sheath is designed to be carried horizontally on a belt or vertically on a suspender. This particular knife sports Black Lip Pearl Composite and is much prettier in person. It's named "Gentlemen's Companion". My personal knife is of this same pattern but with Mother of Pearl scales.

This piece took me to the limit of my comfort level but the female owner was adamant and very persuasive with her checkbook. She has a passion for horse's and the Diamond P is her brand, my makers mark is on the off side of the blade. Being seated on a horse the horizontal sheath only made sense. The Toxic green scales were her idea, NOT mine....

The rest of the pics represent a few of the other designs I have done. Some of them you have already seen where I have put them up for auction here on the site for various good causes.

The 2 knives above were a prototype blade and there will be no more of them as they are too difficult to grind and shape. I could go on and on but that's enough for now......

Nice work. That Gentleman's Companion is a beautiful knife.

Nice work, thanks for sharing.

That blade measures 6.5 overall and the blade is 3.25 and only weighs 1.6 ounces, depending on scale material.
The folks that carry that knife use it for everything from peeling an apple to cutting their chops and steaks at restaurants. I have done that knife with everything from exotic woods to bone to walrus Ivory. This was the pattern the guy from CO with the elephant Ivory was wanting.
I wish I could take total credit for that profile but I saw it in a magazine article a billion years ago and copied it with some modifications. Since I have one in MOP for my personal knife it's obviously my favorite as well.....
