Brush fire?

Driving to Woodys along route 42 today, a massive smoke cloud was visible a distance away and smoke was in the air for part of the drive. It looked like the brush fires I saw in Socal back in the day. Anyone know anything about it?

I rode through it today myself. Looked like it was somewhere between Shearon Harris, Holly Springs, and Duncan.

It may be a controlled burn. There are lots of game lands in the area mentioned and wildlife will burn them sometimes. The forestry service has been doing several burns in my area over the last month or so as well.

The forest service has been doing a lot of controlled burns like that around Jordan lake for the past few weeks. Could it have been forest service managed land?

They had done the same thing up on Morrow Mountain recently.

Sounds like the answer. There was nothing on the news about a forest fire
