The Buccaneer Gun Club IDPA match for Saturday, May 6th 2017, will start at our usual time of 10AM. The cost for the match is $15 if you sign up online prior to midnight on May 5th and $20 after that time or at the match. If you sign up online you will receive email notification as soon as the scores are complete (Usually within a couple of hours after the match is completed) and you will receive a text to your cell phone with scores if your phone supports texting. Also, signing up online saves us time in scoring and allows us to print your score sheet ahead of time. Please be at the range by 9:30AM to check in. BGC is a cold range (YOU MAY NOT HAVE A LOADED FIREARM UNTIL DIRECTED TO LOAD BY A SAFETY OFFICER WHEN YOU ARE ON THE FIRING LINE) and eye and ear protection is required for everyone including spectators. Please bag and unbag your firearms in one of our four designated safe areas. They are clearly marked as such and if you are unsure, just ask one of the match personnel to direct you to one. We are planning on five high round count stages so plan on needing around 100 rounds for the match. A concealment garment (vest, jacket etc.) is REQUIRED for this May match. I might just have Duane drop me off at the beach when we are done at Winnie's.

Just got an email from Lon, BUG match this Saturday:

The Buccaneer Gun Club match for Saturday, May 20th 2017 is a special match to be held since the Coharie Shooting League (Clinton, NC) canceled their match for Saturday May 20th. This special BUG Match to be held at Buccaneer Gun Club will start at our usual time of 10AM and will be an IDPA rules B.U.G. (backup Gun) match. Please be at the range by 9:30AM to check in.

July's match is cancelled due to match personnel travelling out of town.

The August 5th IDPA match scheduled for this next Saturday has been canceled. Our ranges are currently undergoing some major improvements to landscaping and drainage and will be unavailable for a few days.

Please join us for our next scheduled match on Saturday, September 2nd at 10AM.

Amp, they haven't updated their webpage to reflect their summer IDPA match start times. Can you confirm that registration is at 9 and shoot at 10? Thanks.

Buccaneer Gun Club is renovating its IDPA Ranges and as a result their IDPA Match for this Saturday is canceled. Anthill Range will instead hold a match and it will start at the usual time of 10AM with check-in at 9:30AM (at Anthill Range).

100 rounds of ammunition) and concealment (vest, jacket etc.) will be required. Now we just have to dodge Hurricane Irma for any shooting on Sept 9th.

An IDPA BUG match is designed for semi-automatic handguns of at least .380 caliber with barrels of 3.5" or less, and revolvers with 2.5" inch and shorter barrels. If you choose to shoot the match with a handgun that is not BUG legal you may do so, but you will be scored as NOT FOR COMPETITION. In a BUG match concealment is not required, you will not be required to draw from a holster (most shooting starts with your handgun held at low ready), and reloads are done off the clock. Targets are generally closer than you will see in a regular IDPA match, so this is a great venue for introducing new shooters (spouses, sons, daughters, etc.) to the sport. We are planning six stages with two five round strings each so plan on around 60 rounds, but if for some reason you have to reshoot a stage bring a few extra.
