Budget ar in 22lr?

He's right, just get the M&P if you want a full rifle.

If you already have an AR in 223, the CMMG drop in conversions run very well and use those same M&P mags.
This. I use mine to practice with my binary trigger without breaking the bank.

If you’re considering the S&W, you might also want to look at the 15-22 pistol.

I have to also agree, get the M&P. Mine run great.

BTW: anybody seen good pricing on these? Better than the PSA deal above?

Don’t forget to also check out the Tippmann M4-22. It does run a little more the the S&W ($525-500) but I swear it feels like a centerfire carbine except for a lighter report impulse and cost to fed.

I would say build one.
Use a CMMG kit, barrel the length you want then the lower.
That way you are only a barrel and BCG away from 556, 300bo or others.
It is all metal, uses all standard parts short of the barrel and BCG.

I have two, one pistol Smith with lower round count, when I was waiting on my SBR and another MP 15-22 Magpul Moe tan. It was a special run.

Plan to sell both soon, just want to put a few more rounds in them to justify it.
I want aluminum upper and lower is the only reason I would sell them.

Or just get a Ruger. 10-22 spend the rest on mags and ammo.

should i get the m&p pistol or rifle?
Either one would be a good choice. Price, availability etc. You really can't go wrong.

Last time I checked, Fuquay Gun had additional mags in stock. I would be willing to bet they have a rifle/pistol in stock. I would be happy to check to see if they have any if you would like me to run by there..... Always looking for an excuse.....

I would say rifle or plan to SBR pistol later.
Not sure on what the Brace deal will impact on them.

Market is crazy now on them. Only deals have been online then you get hit with the extras like shipping, shipping delays, and transfer and most the time tax.
May be better to figure your end cost and go find a dealer and ask if he will match it or do better.

Just me, I will not order from PSA anymore. Just too many screw ups, delays in shipping 2 to 4 weeks longer than told and also orders they shipped the wrong product and wanted me to pay shipping return with a long response time for replacements.
That was many years ago and there has not been a deal good enough for me to return.

Yea I think i might go with the m&p 15 22 rifle I can get one at mace sports in mebane for around 420 out the door
Solid choice.
Now start saving for a pistol version :)
