I recently found these plans to build a simple L/R hand T-frame shooting bench. And I happened to have been gifted some FREE left-over treated wood from a friend's project. Wouldn't you know it, plenty of 2x12x16s and no 2x6s (the nerve...) so had to hit Low-Wes up for some 2x6x8s. Also had to get some circ saw blades since ine was a dull-as-heck 40T. Anyhow here's the plans and I'll update the thread with pics ASAP.

Here's what it's supposed to look like when I am done.

And here's what mine looks like minus the front brace and side rifle barrel rails

Nice looking bench. The seats look like they’re set back a bit far, but I guess you could modify or leave them off entirely.

And That gets You the Battery Oaks ATTABOY OF THE DAY!!! I'll come move that when you're ready. By that I mean I'll Point to where it goes.

Already done my friend. Got the boys and Mama involved early on today, and we spent all afternoon shooting. Of course the gingers had to get on it first :D

well it's about time to put some stain or waterproofing on the bench. Been over a year, and still looking good though. Being in the shade most of the day helps with that.

I keep staring at the remaining pile of leftover free wood I have had since this project, with the intent on building a pistol-shooting table or a cover but honestly....meh. I'm good for one outdoor project every 5 years.
And we're about the build a house so....not interested :D

Lowe's carries an alleged polyurethane fortified deck paint by Valspar in several colors that might provide some good protection for the bench. I recently painted our front porch in dark grey and really liked how it laid down with a brush with some thinning. Looks awesome.

I recommend Cabot's deck stain for that job. I use that on our fence and some other stuff outside. Put it in a weed sprayer, it will take 10 minutes to do. They sell it at Lowe's.

Already have a gallon of Chesnut Brown semi transparent ready
