Built another planting box. Documented it, sort of.

there will always be those who will pay over $200 for a fancy looking but weak kit to build a panting box. Not me, nor most members here.
Material list for the box.
1 4x4x8' PT post
8 2x4x8' PT boards
A couple boxes of 10x3.5" outdoor grade screws.
Material costs ~$100.

Cut the post and 2 if the 2x4x8 into 24 24inch sections.
Photos show one approach to assembly.
I'm sure the perfectionists will use framing squares and clamps. I'm not a perfectionist.
The Dewalt 20V cordless circular saw has plenty of power to quickly make the cuts.

Thanks for the build pics and info.
Makes me want to build another workbench today even more!

Looks good.

If you’re going to plant stuff to eat I suggest a coat of epoxy on the inside, that PT lumber has some bad stuff in it.

Most of the older treated CCA boards are gone. Even the new 'ground contact' rated don't last as long. Which is good too as you won't die as fast...

Remember getting a small splinter and it hurting so much? That was your body dieing.

Other than having to bend over as far, what's the advantage of building a raised bed vs the dirt that's already at your feet?

My wife has arthritis. So anything that reduces how far she has to bend over helps. Plus harder for the dogs and other critters to get into the death peppers. :D

What are you growing? My peppers are still inside in pots. Chocolate Habanero, Poblano, Jalapeno & Bolivian Rainbow just 'cause they're purty. https://www.chilipeppermadness.com/...-chili-peppers/bolivian-rainbow-chili-peppers
We planted Hyacinth Bean Vine, we had it 20+ years ago & it turned he back of the deck into a wall of color and life.
