I'm been on the notification list with Midway on multiple items, including Small Rifle Primers. I received separate email notifications today, that 5000 quantity CCi #400, CCI #450, CCI #41 and Winchester Small Rifle Pimers had all been discontinued. ??

I think midway discontinued them to sell in individual 1k lots. Midway has had several primer drops lately of the 1k quantity but never listed any of the 5k lots as in stock.

Brownells has listed their 5k cases as in stock recently, but they sell out in less than 2 minutes.

I got the same notification. That does not bode well for us. Mfrs and retailers are doing what the Dems have not been able to, take away our guns by making them useless for anything other than paperweights and tomato stakes.

This is just Midway making more money. The companies that make them still ship them in cases (5000 per box) all the time. I've gotten a couple of recent purchases of cases and they get shipped to me in the exact same box they come in from the manufacturer. Several sites have limitations on how many primers you can buy, on the rare event you're lucky in the 60 seconds they're available. PV is 2, Midway just 1, Natchezss 5, etc. For every one you buy, you get to pay that extra hazmat fee which makes them more money. Midway's prices are also noticeably higher than their competitors.

I got the same notices and also for W209 bulk.

Well, dammit, if you guys would quit buying up all the primers as soon as the notifications go out there might be a few left for the rest of us.
Seriously, it's supply and demand. And if they don't limit the quantities going out they would all be bought up by a few pirates that will turn around and try to resell them on sites like Gunbroker for ridiculously high prices. Oh, wait...

Yeah, primers are still being made, they're just selling them by the 1000ct brick instead of 5000ct cases to prevent scalpers from buying the bigger packs and selling them at such a steep profit. The retail side of things is all about disincentivizing the Gunjokers and secondhand shakedowns clearly plaguing the ammunition market at this time.
