BWK92 questions

I've passed up several BWK92 AKs in the last few years, what is your opinion on them? I know mags are hard to find but do they have any other drawbacks?
Does anyone make a mag adapter for them? I haven't been able to find much out about them online and thought you guys might have some experience with them.

No personal experience with one myself, but I've seen several how-tos on modding nice surplus and cheap commercial mags to fit. Others have had success after removing a bit of material from the magwell itself (although IMHO you fit the mag to the gun and not vice versa). If you are handy with a Dremel and files, these may be your viable alternatives to the crazy expensive Norinco mags.

I've seen BWKs for sale but have not purchased one. I think @Majicmike may have some insight since this is a Chinese AK.

I've had one for over 25 yrs and love it. Dependable firearm that goes bang every time no matter what I've fed it. I was able to pick up several mags for mine off the forums over the years but would like to have a couple more at a reasonable price.

Dependable firearm that will work when you need it to I tell ya.

They are great guns. You already know the draw backs. Rifle by itself is only worth 500 at best. I have seen 30 rd mags comedown like everything else. 60-80 bucks. Just remember if you buy one they are hard sells without mags.

The last one I saw had a factory 5 or 10 rd mag, a factory 30 rd mag, a 30 rd bakelite mag and an aftermarket 30 rounder of some kind. I'm gonna have a hard time convincing myself to buy one if I can't get 10 mags with it.
I was hoping a mag conversion was an option.

This might be a good opportunity for some of the google-fu experts on here to help scour the interwebz to see if things have changed and some mags are available now. I'm always shocked at how many things pop up when the serious digging begins among our gurus.

They may very well find a distributor that is offering them now................who knows ?

The most common things I've read is that the Promag 30rders work in about half the rifles. I did have one came with a rifle but it was holit and mis.
Another thing I noticed is the rifles didn't seem to cycle 223 well. Same rifle with 556 and Chinese mags never had issues. This was the same on 3 different rifles.

Seems they are going up. I searched GB today and found a few that had hit the $900-1000 mark .
