It's a digital mode, that I understand is very similar to DMR and supposedly bridges exist to connect to it. It's a function of my new Yeasu radio, but previously I've never heard of it or heard mention of it. Does it get much use by anybody?

I can bridge between DMR and C4FM using my Openspot, but have not done it. I think C4FM is maybe the easiest to understand of the digital FM modes. C4FM uses chat rooms and when you query a Fusion repeater it will tell you the available chat rooms and the number of participants. I've thought I wouldn't mind having System Fusion capability. Yaesu really primed the pump a few years ago when they were pushing out System Fusion repeaters for only $500.

I (think I) saw that W4GSO has this enabled. There was something about it seemlesslay bridging with their analog FM ports... and be sure to do some blah blah blah ... To avoid tromping on each other, that didn't make a whole lot of sense.

On a side note, they've got someone lined up and scheduled to look at repairing W4GG.
