I know this is technically a pistol, but, in the spirit of this sub-forum, I kinda figured it belonged here.

This kind of purchase is a bit of a departure for me. I typically shy away from this kind of stuff. But I got to handle one of these at work and thought it might be a lot of fun if nothing else.

I got it late yesterday. I just acquired the Holosun sight this morning. I have not had an opportunity to shoot this yet.

I bought the kit that came with back up sights, two thumb rests (left and right), one point bungee sling, and integral (but removable) flashlight.

This is the "brace" version so no NFA concerns. They make several other NFA restricted versions.

The brace can fold to the side.

The sights seem like an even cheaper copy of the Magpul plastic ones. Not useless, but not very good either. I will probably switch them out shortly. The thumb rest I kinda like. I only installed the left one. Kind of good grip to keep your hand away from the front of the muzzle. That will stay on mine. The sling seems to be good quality.

The light is actually decent which kinda surprised me. Once I had it in hand, I discovered it was a 500 lumen O-light. I am a fan of O-light products. That was a pleasant surprise. It is a 1 CR123 battery model. The controls are not super instinctive, but it will do. I tried the light out last night and it will work for what is probably the realistic max for this set-up anyway. Easily ID targets out to 75 to 100 yards.

I'd like to get an 8 inch or so aftermarket barrel to go with this. That may change the rounds capability a little.

I am looking forward to shooting this one. I do not know that I have a particular niche that this will fill, or an intended purpose for it other than having fun. I know this does nothing to improve the terminal ballistics of the round, especially with the original barrel still on my Glock 17. However, just from handling it so far, it certainly feels like it should increase speed and ability to make accurate hits at ranges past 25 yards especially. We'll see.

In the meantime, here she is:

LOL! Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna hate it. But, I kinda think I'm gonna end pursuing the next size up so I can try out 10mm as well. But you do have dibs!

Can the flash hider be removed and a threaded barrel be used with a suppressor?

From what I have read online, yes.

But, not all of the Roni models have that capability. But this one is one of the very newest versions, and you are supposed to be able to do that. I have not done it myself yet, but I checked several threads and discussion on some of the national boards and have seen the pictures that would lead me to say yes.

Moot point anyway. Once you get it in your hands, and put your gun in it, it's tight. Feels really good. She ain't going nowhere.

We'll shoot it Sunday afternoon if you want though.

DAMN!!! Something else I don't need buy WANT!!! I am no big fan of aftermarket kits or Bubba conversions- But this looks nice!! Now to find a host gun.
Surplus g22 is where it's at!

Please be sure to give us some updates on these . I am reading some mixed reviews so far.

So far I have only ran around 40 rounds through mine. 9mm +P+. Not an in depth test by any means, but so far so good. It's an absolute pleasure to shoot.

No gas in the face, but I am right handed. May be slightly different for left handed folks.

Looks like cleaning may be a little different than normal since some carbonesque stuff is left inside the chassis.

I think I may be able to shoot again this coming Monday. Hopefully at least 200-300 rounds. Gonna let some other folks shoot it that day as well. Get some different perspectives.

I do have a Glock 34 barrel on the way. I have no idea if it will fit without modifications. We'll see.

For some reason I think I'm ready for another LEO surplus G22. Used to buy them from Lawmen's but they won't sell to lowlife civies anymore. Anyone know of a local source or a decent price and in stock online? Can't wait to shoot up a bunch of .40 I've been sitting on that you cheap bastards never bought from me. ;)

So through a strange twist of opportunity I find myself now owning one of these! I wish all my wants would materialize so quickly. Anyway, mine is a stabilizer model I'm shooting with a .40 Glock. Shot it a little after work, only 3-4 mags. Before I shot it I was thinking I could sell the 9mm AR pistol I built because this does the same thing at about 1/3 the weight. Well yes and no. The reality is I'm holding and firing a .40 Glock about as far away from my face as my nose is, and in a very light platform. It's not bad, but it is a more "dynamic" experience than shooting a full sized PCC or even AR pistol. That's the way it felt to me anyway. Maybe I'm just a pussy. I do drive a Mini Cooper now.

I think this is going to really shine in controlling rapid fire. Can't wait to shoot it some more, going to be really fun to train with and see what it can do.

I weighed them on our market scale. Turns out it weighs exactly half of the AR, not 1/3. Feels like 1/3 though.
Roni with Glock unloaded = 3.5 lbs
9mm AR pistol unloaded = 7 lbs.

I stole the TRS25 off the 9mm AR, but I think I'm just going to put it back and put some pop up BUIS on the Roni to keep it low profile and light.

Love the light on yours Bill, going to look into that. Hey what do I win for noticing the mag in backwards in the top pic? :)

Looky what I found.

They do sell the lights separately so you are in luck there.

As far as your prize, you win a free cup of coffee next time you come over. That way you can sober up and stop doubting my redneck skills and I can give you a class on how to spot the difference between a 21 round P-Mag magazine and a factory Glock magazine. The magazine is installed correctly in the top picture. You can give me a class about how to fit this gigantic amount of awesomeness into a Mini Cooper later, if that is even possible. LOL!
