Has anyone used this the Caldwell mag charger and if so did you like it?
Trying to figure out if it is any better or worse than the UpLula.

I've only used the Uplula and couldn't be happier. Not sure how the Caldwell could be better but it certainly appears larger. I'm guessing that, once the M&P rebates ship, there should be plenty of them for sale.

I bought one a few weeks ago and really like it. Works great on every mag I have tried it on, and that includes a tiny single stack Sig 938 mag, up to a double stack HK 45 mag that I have never been able to load to full capacity as I've never encountered a mag as tight as this one. Pretty clever the way it works and changes sizes to accommodate basically any size mag. Very little effort required to get the last round into the tightest of mags. I would definitely buy one again if I ever lose or break the one Ive got now.

Thank you both for these responses. I think I will flip a coin and just buy them both :D

I am so impressed with the concept that I will take pre-orders to trade a Caldwell for an Uplula.

Seriously, I suspect the Caldwell is very well built and easy to use, but pushing on the bullet's nose to seat a round scares me with the possibility of setback.

That is a great point.

The Uplula is as low as $17 (brown) and $19 (black) on Amazon right now. You can't go wrong unless you pay big-box store prices.

I don't really see this as a problem as the unit depresses the mag follower before it pushes on the bullet nose, so there isn't that much force on it, not nearly as much as it gets when it slams into the feed ramp of the barrel as the gun is self loading while you are shooting. Also, if the ammo you are shooting cant take that little bit of force on the bullet nose you are probably destined for a problem any way. Ive loaded several hundred rounds at least, maybe over a thousand by now with no issues of any kind.

That said, the uplula is a good loader and priced right it appears. Ive seen people use them and they look like they work well, but I believe the Caldwell unit takes a little less effort to use, and it can handle all size mags, single and double stack, not sure if the uplula can.

Gotta "love" Amazon, I also saw those prices but said I would wait until today.
I cannot find one less than about $30 on Amazon now.

Yeah, I know all about it. That's why I posted it right away. I grabbed one a few months ago while they had the lower prices.

I've tried both and I prefer the Uplula. Maybe it was just me, but I had problems with the Caldwell. Wouldn't always seat a round and adjusting the little holders when switching between mags was a pain and to me it wasn't much quicker or easier than handloading (at the range). This might be different if your fully loading the mags, but at the range I usually only put 10 in a mag.

The Calwell looks a little overly complex to me. By the time you get the mag in and lock it down, I could have half a mag loaded with the Uplula.
