California police discover secret underground shooting range

“...[police found a bunch of stuff}...[more setting the tone for bad evil not good]...including an AR-15 and a 100-round drum magazine.”

Another small erosion toward demonizing those with that type of gear...right under our noses. How many people do you think read that line and had some sort of negative reaction to it? Water under the bridge that we’ll never get back. Thanks Fox.

When the house across the street was built it had a basement with no exterior access. It was unfinished and shortly before closing a contractor came in and cut a 4’x4’ square opening in one basement wall. I never saw what they did after that, but it points out into the yard and I was really hoping to see a backhoe burying a big pipe one day. Easily have room for a 25yard pistol range.

You wanted to see your neighbour laying big pipe?

We had a shooting range in our basement when I was a child. What is wrong with having one? I can see how the people can get arrested for previous crimes or for having illegal arms and accessories, but why would having your own shooting range be illegal? I suppose it might have something to do with discharging a weapon inside city limits.

"Known gang member" is often used to bias a reader when the evidence of actual crime is scant or non-existent, or the crime of which they are charged is so absurd that they have to frame it in a way that the reader doesn't think beyond the idea of "the bad guy" getting his just desserts.

Were it me, I would argue that California's gun control, both in aggregate and in totality, unduly burden the Right to keep and bear arms. That such undo burden forced me to exercise a fundamental and natural Right, inalienable from my person in secret and in so doing the State of California violated my Rights.

Go big or go home - and pray God you get at least one juror with the ability to think that doesn't have a religious hard on for the government or the police.

In CA I bet it is an environmental infraction around lack of lead abatement processes.

It's illegal to have an underground room?

I have a shoot range in my backyard.

when time allows I even kill things.

l live in NC and I am free.

I am going to sell bags of red clay on line so people can smell what Freedom smells like.

if the mailing address is outside of the South of it will smell like cow crap.

Nothing wrong with good clean crap.

Apparently he's part of a motorcycle group. No surprise there. They work hard to control the narrative. - "gang member" - hey, guess what, being a member of a "gang" is not in and of itself illegal or wrong.

Character assassination at its finest.

“We will never give up on keeping our community safe and free of violence,” the press statement read. “We are the champions at Hide n Seek and no manhole will help you. If you hide we will find you. If you run you will go to jail tired. If you do crime in our city, we will hunt you in the pursuit of justice for our community.”

Oh please ...

I was thinking the same thing...

Dear Lord, no one needs that much ammo!

The amount of misleading or downright incorrect information that FOX News puts out about firearms is frustrating, to say it lightly. For being the lone mainstream news outlet that's supposed to be on "our side," they do a lot of disservice to the gun community. A lot of their 2A reporting definitely skews Fudd.

I used to go out of my way to track down email addresses and reach out to editors, or even contact the reporters of these stories directly via social media, kindly asking them to correct the mistakes. Not once has anyone responded or updated a story.

That said, an underground range sounds awesome as hell and makes me super jealous.

I was thinking that too... although lead, etc. exposure in such a small, confined space with no ventilation, such as the one in the story, does not sound... ideal. :p

2016 closure rate for the whole country was only 59.4, 2017 was 61.6%, didn't think it was that easy to get away with.

I believe that it’s hard to get away with murdering someone that you want dead, it’s the random stuff that’s hard to solve.
