Well...... The header is a bit misleading. We will be doing camping, but am looking for a highrise with a balcony ocean facing with a restaurant and entertainment. A quiet and romantic place for an anniversary. We will mostly be doing museums, seeing the wild horses, Kitty Hawk. Not looking for budget accommodations but don't want to get a bank loan for the few nights either,

What recommendations do y'all have?

My wife and I have stayed in a hotel in OBX before. Did a 5 day weekend to recover from a China trip.
A Basic hotel.
We spent the days at Nags Head Pier fishing. Thought we'd just do one day fishing but my wife rally liked it.
We have done the beach feint house rental too. But just when it wad a big extended family trip. 16 of us in a 6 BR house. That us a lot of fun.

Was a good few days. Visited Ocracoke island. The docks were filled with HUGH fish from the charters. Cobia and Tuna mostly. The ferry ride was a good boat trip. Spent some time on the beach near Hatteras. Not a person but me and the wife on the beach, It was great. Did a light house tour and saw at least 5. A few shops, bought a tshirt and a cane for my Uncle. She bought some jewelry and all was good. Saw several museums but missed the Monitor. I have not visited many places I wanted to see again. But I think I will return to OBX. Next time I will rent a 4 wheel and get a beach permit. I think it would be fun to drive the full distance allowed on the coast line. Next time I think I will stay on Hatteras. Tht seems to be where most things we want to do are located.
