That almost blued looking finish. Was wondering because the factory mag with my 92F is holding up perfect aside from light cosmetic wear, but a factory M9 magazine I have with it’s “sand-resistant” finish is rusting.
I’m asking what the factory commercial magazine has. Came original with my Italian made Beretta 92F.If it was a Military spec mag it would be a heavy phosphate finish to be durable for use in Sandy conditions.
I believe those were bluedI’m asking what the commercial magazine has. Factory Italian Beretta 92F.
The factory M9 magazine is the one rusting.
What kind of blueing holds up much better than the phosphate?I believe those were blued
It’s just a tiny amount. It scrubbed away with no effort.Sand off the rust and paint it. Then use it.
I would do a parkerized finish on the 92 mag tooIt’s just a tiny amount. It scrubbed away with no effort.
I don’t like to refinish things, only restore. Only thing I’ve had refinished was a Charles Daly Hi-Power that rusted all to hell in storage, did it parkerized grey.
Cold blue doesn’t really hold up better but for a small area may be an optionWhat kind of blueing holds up much better than the phosphate?
Okay but what kind of blueing is the original magazine? The google says sand resistant 92 mags are PVD coated
Why? I said it’s never rusted. The M9 one is.I would do a parkerized finish on the 92 mag too
Fairly certain the PVD was not on the early military magsThe google says sand resistant 92 mags are PVD coated
Sorry i was confused about which mag you were trying to fixWhy? I said it’s never rusted. The M9 one is.
