Can we get a transfer cost thread going?

I just had two lowers transferred at Atlas in Winston Salem. They charge $20 for up to 4 on one sheet and IIRC $20 more for the ones after that.
Next time we see each other, remind me to tell you how to save time and money on your transfers. :)

Knightdale Pawn is $20 James is good people. I know he’s been mentioned but wanted to bump him again.

FWIW I used to be a member at TSA. They advertise their transfers as $25 for members. I sold a gun to a guy off armslist and he wanted to do the sale at an FFL so I suggested TSA. Long story short, they wouldn’t do the transfer at $25 because I wasn’t the one purchasing the gun. Charged the guy $40+tax. Not a huge deal but still irked me a bit.

Sounds like a ripoff to me.

I hate to say it, but the only reason I go there is for the range, and for the food. I hardly bother looking at what they have in stock anymore, whenever I do I see high prices. I bought a bunch of stuff from them when they were North Raleigh Guns, but nothing since then.

Anyone have suggestions for low cost transfers in the Hendersonville/Fletcher area? My go to guy at Check Point Armory has closed and relocated out of the area.

Any of the FFL’s actually give you a copy? Fuquay does, and that makes transfers easy, no need to get them involved with having to send one themselves.
I put a MO and FFL copy in an envelope and send it out.

I've lost track of the number of transfers I've made with my guy in the past year. He won't give me a copy and I have to go down there each time to get him to email his document to sellers. I'm seriously considering paying the $200 and applying for an FFL myself.

As mentioned above, Atlas Firearms in Winston Salem, $20. I mention them again due to great service as well. Had a AR transferred there from Buds a week ago. Got a text update on tracking when it was delivered there. My phone rang 16 minutes later and it was Atlas letting me know my rifle had arrived. I'll be using them again shortly.

Used a new one (to me) for the Model 10 I ordered from Aim Surplus. Highway 200 Firearms in Waxhaw. Real nice older gentlemen who runs it out of his kitchen. I enjoyed talking to Mr. Mike and his wife this afternoon, and transfer was only $15.

I have bought 5 new guns from my LGS in the last year. A few weeks ago, I bought a used handgun online and had it shipped to him. I had no idea how much the transfer fee would be, but I assumed it would be about $20.

When the used handgun shipped, I had the FedEx tracking number and text message alerts and I saw exactly when it arrived at the LGS. I was at the shop to pick it up 30 minutes after it arrived. The whole transaction took two minutes.

He wrote the serial number in his book, looked at my CHP, and charged me $40 plus tax.

I couldn't believe it... I am not going to have any more guns sent there.

Same with me, they will not accept inbound transfers from Bud's. I did get a nice deal on a used, like new, Beretta 92FS compact last year.

Who was that? Triangle GunVault on 64 in Apex will hook you up for $20. That's not too bad a drive to save $20.

Don't see many coastal area places mentioned, so here goes......
Morehead City - Nick's Guns and Gear - $30

Havelock (actually closer to Beaufort) - SureShot Gunsports and Range - $25

Both places very friendly and service oriented. Great businesses.

Talk about outrageous, I asked my LGS and range where I am a member about outbound transfers, $75.00 says he!! Plus postage...

Carolina Sportman's Outfitter in Henderson. $10 or buy a box of ammo. Top notch store with some very good prices. My only gripe is they don't carry any used firearms.

Reactions: Me.
Mace has a large inventory, and they obviously only want to sell their stock and not anyone else's.

Chatham Arms just north of Pittsboro, NC. $20 per transfer, but he is a kitchen table guy with a real job so you sometimes have to be patient for pickup. Still, highly recommended.

Money Quick Pawn and Gun. In Raeford, NC (near Bragg). $20 per transfer, doesn't matter how many firearms per transfer, as long as they're being transferred at the same time.

I'll be picking my AR pistol lower up at Bull Moose Guns in Mint Hill this week. Transfer fee is $25.
