Cannon safe keypad change to mechanical dial

Looks fine! Does the missing arm hit the dial? Or just off for photo clarity?

If you want to plug the old hole, could you file the edges square enough to accept a carriage bolt? I've seen black-coated ones in Blowe's & Schlomo Depot that would look pretty good (better than zinc or galv).

No, it clears. I just left it off so I have more room to turn dial. This safe is in my shop so it won't be holding valuables overnight. I'm using it mainly for the gun stuff I leave down here. Some ammo, cleaning stuff, gun parts, etc.

I’m wanting to change the lock on my liberty safe which is a securam backlit (top two pictures) to a securam Xtreme(bottom two pictures). The Xtreme model has the keypad and the turnable dial all in one. In all the pictures I’ve looked at, both locks come with the same looking box behind the dial/keypad. I can save a chunk of money if I just buy the Xtreme “face” without the lock box. I’m just wondering if the new face will work with the lock box I already have? Or will I need to buy the whole Xtreme kit?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Funny thread, several years ago I had a locksmith change out a manual dial for an electronic one.
Now I change out batteries 2x year.

My replacement safe is electronic. Having a choice I'd pick manual everyday, all day.

I've changed out two electronic keypads, and they both worked with the lock/bolt already installed, and they were not the same brand keypad.

The Key thing everyone asks on the S&G Lock. I bought my Liberty 35 plus years ago and the local dealer was also a licensed locksmith who delivered my safe and shared detailed info on my safe.

The Key thing.. He said was considered a Day Lock.
After opening the safe you can roll the dial back from it's unlocking position when closing back up 10 numbers or so and use the key to lock the dial. Then as necessary go in and out the safe using the key and rotating the dial to the stopping postion each time .

When I had younger children in the house I kept the safe set up like that so for fast retrieve I didn't use the key function. Just roll the dial back 10 numbers or so and the safe is locked. Quickly access by moving the dial to unlock again bingo fast entry.
My brand safe has drill point under the dial that isn't marked. You have to measure to find it. Tumbler alignment is possible at that point for opening after a stupid crook, house burglar screws the dial up in some fashion.
