Yeah, my training “runs” in the mountains were no match for the 90* & 10,000% humidity at
my 12:30 launch. I came very close to tapping out just before stage 4 worries about heat stroke.

I camped on site and met 4 other dudes from Wilimungtin who were also camping out. Good group of guys.

I have not seen a final score as of yet.

Tim how did you do. Dave33 beat me pretty good overall but ill get him he better keep running!

Beseventeen can you throw me some links to other RnG in the southeast-ish area (when you have time)? I think I would like to hit another one. Will there be a 2nd annual CRNG? You did a great job putting it on! Thanks again.

I hate I missed you. My start time was at 12:47. The heat was brutal for sure. Not my 1st RnG and in spite of my preps, I was still struggling. My gear continues to evolve ...... Find a problem..... Fix problem..... Find a problem...... Repeat lol.

Looks like I was 15th overall (5K), 8th on the shooting, 21st on the run.

Yup, the heat about did me in. I was just happy to finish!
 
you just beat me Tim good run! I was 16th over all. That probably was a mild heat for August in SC we got lucky. Especially the early morning runners! The ROs had it real bad we got there the afternoon before and it was coming down hard and fast.

Good job for hanging in there. My start time was 1:50, it was steamy by then. Bo$$hawg got lucky with his 11:16 start time, was a bit more overcast and cooler then.

I ended up 8th in the 5k overall, run time wasn't spectacular, shooting helped me out, but going in I felt better about the shooting part over the running anyway.

That property is primarily used as a hunt club. Deer, turkey, dove, etc...so matches are pretty much shut down from Mid September through 1st of January for deer and then again in the spring for turkey.

OK, for all of you who missed out on participating in this years RNG you are in luck. The date has been set for next years Carolina RNG, its June 22, 2019, same location, Clinton House SC. Plenty of time to train, arrange time off work, and make travel plans. Being earlier in the year training should be a bit nicer temperature wise.

If you would like to see exactly what you missed out on a guy I met at the event uploaded his go pro video to their website, carolinarunandgun.com. He edited out most of the mundane running footage but you can see the obstacles and all the shooting stages. The day the RO's ran the course it rained heavy all day. No rain the next day but the mud was crazy and the creek crossing a little worse.
 
Dave, thanks for posting that for me. I am super excited about this event already. Last year was so much fun.
 
I just checked in on the RnG site for this year. It has been canceled? Any word on why or if it will be rescheduled? I hope all is well beseventeen!

On my FB feed i was sent a notification that this organizations runs are all cancelled.
 
@beseventeen is an awesome all round person. I'm sure the cancellation wasn't taken lightly. I wish her good vibes and hope all is well.
