Cary Police officers have the right idea

I'm moving to this town in 7 days. Thank the f**king lord I'm confident enough in protecting myself.

I may have to prank phone call them on day 1 "hi 911? yes, this is resident XYZ at [redacted], I have an emergency toe fungus going on here, was hoping you could send an officer over to clean it for me?"

Or maybe “ is your refrigerator running? Well ya might wanna go catch it before it’s feet are dirty as s%# and you’ll be cleaning them all day”

That would be my reaction as well but I bet the crowd wouldn't be okay with it coming from a white officer, not that it would matter to me.

Footwashing is a sacrament in some Christian churches. Used to be a lot more common than it is today. I grew up in a church that practiced footwashing and have done it, and received it, myself, many times. I have no problem with it at all if all the participants were doing it of their own will to honor God by symbolically serving others. Typically, though, the one whose feet are washed returns the sacrament by washing the feet of the other person, as well. Don't know if that happened in this case. Would have been very powerful, if it did.

The words of the "prayers" being offered on the bullhorn were difficult to listen to at times. The whole thing would have seemed more meaningful to me without the bullhorns.

I have had my feet washed by Pastors in my Church as well and would gladly wash others feet under the right situation, in my opinion at least that was not it, watch the video again and pay close attention to the words.

Meanwhile in GA:
Black Georgia state trooper refuses to kneel at a Black Lives Matter protest: ‘I only kneel for one person'
I am not Christian, so that part bears no significance to me, outside it being a humbling gesture one could voluntarily share with someone else. For me, I would have to have a close bond with that person.

I would refuse to do this for other reasons.

I don't disagree.

You have an unrealistic view of what the police do. There is no down time, for the most part they are answering calls from the minute they check on until they are relieved by the next shift. There is no hanging around the station playing video games, cooking and working out. The reason it takes police so long getting to a call is that most likely they are already on one.

I think that is the point being made...instead of those cops out there working "every minute of their shift" lets see what things look like for a few weeks with them just chilling at the station.

Cary, N.C...…..got it......another place I am Never going.

You wouldn't be allowed. You have to be a retired Yankee wasp with an exceptionally highly developed opinion of yourself, or an educated Indian immigrant in the medical or software industry.

I live right next door, just a stones throw away, if you ever come across any hand grenades. I keed, I keeeeed.

I’d have brought a pressure washer.

A multi cultural pancake breakfast would have been better imho.

Sorry, pastor, but there would be a lot of reasons i'd walk away from your prayer.
I don't need to pray for forgiveness and do acts of atonement for things I didn't do.
That's what hit me. The guy with the bull horn started talking about how they were basically POS's and listing things none of them had any responsibility for.

Per my earlier comments, if it is true that the people getting their feet washed were the ones who organized this, then it is a meaningless, political publicity stunt. If you hold a foot washing service, it is because YOU are going to wash others’ feet, not have others wash yours. If others choose to wash your feet, that is totally up to them.

Imagine how powerful it would have been to skip the bullhorns and they just washed the feet of those to whom they wished to show attitudes of humility and service. Imagine the police walking up on that and voluntarily washing feet, then those whose feet they washed returned the gesture to the officers. That would have spoken more than any words ever could.

The bullhorn thing smacks of Jesus’ warnings in Matthew 6.

Pharisees praying loudly in public as well...as a retired LEO I would have gotten up and walked away at the least or perhaps even snatched that Bullhorn away and tossed it.

Apparently all the people who are participating are part of the same congregation.....washers and washees

This starting to , or has reminded me of the following scenes,,,,,,,,,,,,

The mutants worship an ancient nuclear bomb, with a congregation of worshipers who sing hymns to the tune of an organ, wear ceremonial robes, and in their moment of exaltation, remove their human masks to reveal their mutated, nuclear scarred faces.

The bomb, called the Alpha-Omega bomb, the beginning and the end, is the only way these mutants keep sane in this world, through worshiping the symbol of death and new-life. Their human lives were changed by the bomb, mutating their bodies yet enhancing their mental abilities, but crucially, not their intelligence. They believe they will become one with the world via the exploding of the bomb.

How did this religion even come to be?

As this goes on, the apes invade the Forbidden Zone and storm the ruins and the church. It's downright surreal! Humanoid, intelligent apes with guns vs. mutant atomic-bomb worshiping humans,

The bomb is damaged, and has enough energy to destroy the entire planet. In rapid succession, Nova is killed by the apes, Taylor is shot, and Brent gunned down after managing to shoot down the gorilla General Ursus (James Gregory). This is the end for these characters, who admittedly we've known for a short amount of time but it's shocking nonetheless in brutality. Taylor pleads with Dr. Zaius (Maurice Evans) for help stopping the bomb, but Zaius remains stuck in his ways, saying that man is only able to destroy.

Taylor falls, gasping out "It's Doomsday" as he hits the detonation switch with his bloodied hand.
The bomb rumbles, we pan in on his hand, it slips, a white light fills the screen, then darkness. A voice-over tells us "In one of the countless billions of galaxies in the universe, lies a medium-sized star, and one of its satellites, a green and insignificant planet, is now dead". Then the credits roll, in silence.

that rocket looks like a 556 round.

so if they want to do this in their municipality to keep some peace, I could not care less.

IMHO, this is the equivalent to negotiating with terrorist.
Yes, I mean like the international type / kind, etc.

It never works because they always want more / up the ante etc.

Besides the local politics ( Cary ) these controversial request / ideas have a nasty habit of Mission Creep and moving to Normal segments of society.

Just look into / at the "No Go Zones" in Europe with the Muslims.

And the following is an example of "Mission Creep."

Black Lives Matter Demands Boston Spend $15M on Summer Jobs for Illegal Aliens
The City should fund $15 million for 5000 summer jobs and 1000 year-round jobs lasting from September to June, including hiring 14-22 year olds, hiring undocumented young people, and providing grants to organizations. Mayor Walsh, CFO Emme Handy, and Director Justin Sterritt: meet with young people immediately to discuss protecting young people this summer! [Emphasis added]

^^^^^^^This 100%!

These were not officers under orders from command to take part they were the Apex, Morrisville and Cary Police Chiefs who knelt before the activists and washed their feet in subjugation. This wasn't taking a knee it was Muslim style bowing while a white apologist preacher attoned for the sins of all white people.

It has nothing to do with Christian values whens it's all televised for personal gain and performance bonuses from their city managers. These Chiefs set the standard for their officers.
