Well, my old ass tore up right shoulder isn't going to have anymore of me throwing 8, 10 and 12 foot Betts Superpro nets. Sucks to get old, Gonna try left handed and if that doesn't work I'm gonna put them up for sale in a couple weeks. I've got one more 8 footer that I may modify and remove some weight.

Shoot I have been having great luck with my 6'. It's an easier throw too because you can use the "grab 1/3 down and then grab the bottom lead" method. I may actually extend the rope because it's easier for me to get it to open when I throw it farther.

We caught an 11" mullet the other week off the boat by blind casting it at the edge of a grass line.

If the nets are a bit stiff, pick up some unscented liquid fabric softener. Put the net in a 5 gallon buck and mix up a good mix. Let it soak for a day or so before rinsing.

Naw, the only thing stiff is my shoulder. Lots of injuries in the past. Haven't thrown the 10 or 12 in several years and the 8's a couple years ago. I used to starch the lead lines to stiffen them up. I've got 2 sixes so I'll probably pull them out. Sucks getting old but better than the alternative.

When I was living on hogg inlet I probably threw cast nets 5 days a week. While I'm tall and fairly strong, I had much better luck throwing a 6 foot net fifty times instead of a twelve footer twenty times. Much quicker reset and way more distance.

I used to pancake a 12 fairly consistently. Met a little Indonesian dude many years back that could pancake a 20. He worked with me couple hours but I couldn't get the hang of his style. Stout little dude. That's bow he made a living.
