Something occurred to me last night, if you HAD to leave your safe in place and with guns inside why not run a bead of caulking around any non-waterproof seams?? The door, any penetrations where power comes through to keep water out would be better than doing nothing. The question is, do you have the equipment to take these measures?? A caulking gun and a few tubes of quality caulk should do the trick....
You could always dig the caulking out after the event has passed but it would be better than opening the door and seeing water start flowing out.......

Could work. Around the door, handle, and dial.

If you have an electronic lock caulk a plastic sandwich box over it.

Would be easy to clean up.

Most safes have four holes on the bottom, one in each corner and some have power outlet at
the rear lower right corner. DAP water based spray foam would do the trick, easy to open later.
Plastic sheeting duct taped to the safe on the lower level should keep the water out for a while.

What’s that tape stuff, flex-seal or something like that? Maybe seal up the bottom now when you’ve got lots of time.

They have Flex Seal caulk and paint now. The paint on stuff works pretty good.

That’s the stuff, I was just th8nking something like tape that would bridge the gap rather than fill the gap. Picking silicone out of a 1/4” gap 2” deep would be no fun.

Yur a real fart smeller ... Um , I mean... Smart feller !

This... happened to me when I evacuated.

I put gorilla tape around the seams. Gorilla tape is the best tape I've found. I used it on an old car that had leaks around the passenger windows. I'd have to replace it about every 5-6 months...but it held up in heat, rain, outdoor environment!
Good idea about caulking a small box over electronic lock!! Hadn't thought of that!

Zip tape would be another good option.

So I was thinking about the base (because you do have the four holes for mounting) - what if you just caulked around the bottom too?
Hell, caulk it up and let it cure then put some tape over too?

Good idea on the box over the electronic lock
