Anyone ever done it? I need to replace the glass on my Droid turbo but the local places want $120 to $150 to replace it.... No! Lol I can get the replacement glass for $25. I watched a few videos doesn't look crazy hard but I really don't want to destroy my phone. I'm pretty good with my hands. Should I try it?

ive done it on my iPhone, not on a droid. its not hard at all if you have steady hands and good with small screws. if you can put an AR15 takedown detent pin in then you can take apart a phone

find a really good youtube video, make sure you have all the tools, and go for it.

how old is the phone? if its 2-3 years or older I would recommend doing the battery at the same time

EDIT: also don't skimp on a cheap screen, I went with a 20 screen for my 5s and its fine for what I need, but you can tell when you tap it sometimes it flickers, but the phone is already 3+ years old so I didn't need OEM

How's your eyesight? Some of those parts/screws/connectors are fu&#ing small. I used a magnifying lamp to help my old eyes.

Do all the work on a spread out white t-shirt. That way if you drop said tiny screw it won't bounce off the table never to be seen again and it helps keeping track of everything.

It's a PITA, but you can do it.

I ordered one for a droid incredible back in the day and took mine apart and everything went well. About 3 days later the glue let go and the screen popped out and the phone crashed.

I ordered one. It was $15 on AM. Watched a few vids doesn't seem hard at all. Just have to be careful. Thanks guys!
