Anyone have one of these? Comments on current production examples? American Rifleman did a positive review of the rifle in their latest issue.

Born In The USA: Century Arms’ BFT47 Review

Friends dont let Friends buy Century *manufactured* guns.
I mean, sooner or later they have to get it right. Even if it's by accident. I feel like I could have done it with crap hanging around my garage in the time they've been at it and screwing it up.
Seems like PSA is getting pretty close....

I SBR’d a VSKA pistol and it’s worked flawlessly for me I’ve got about 1k rounds through it and no issues so far I do have a wolf extra power spring that I installed as soon as I got the gun and it was cerakoted. even with the cerakote I haven’t had any issues - I’m not sure what the difference between the VSKA series and the BFT series is but century today isn’t the same century as 10+ years ago

The thing is, even if they do get it right, after such statments as "Brass ammo destroys trunnions" who would believe them when they do?

I don't understand all the hate for Century. I've got one. I'm guessing it's about 8 yrs old. Has a few thousand rounds through it and it has never had a failure of any kind. When I pull the trigger it fires, ejects, loads the next round, and fires again.

I'm asking a serious question because I just don't understand....why all the hate for Century? Mine is a Century Model 39 Sporter.20230627_103006.jpg

Just like PSA we all know them as the poverty state armory that makes trash tier rifles but over time they’re still poverty tier rifles but they really do actually work yea there’s always lemons but psa and century have both improved with time

Looks good to me.

I can say PSA IS SHIT. I worked there in the production facility for a short time. I left because of the shotty work they allowed uneducated employees to do with crappy out of spec parts. Maybe Century is the same but I haven't seen their process with my own eyes. I can promise you that one day PSA's shotty junk will kill someone. It's just a matter of time.

Lol yea Ive seen a thing or two about PSAs production. You’re not wrong

Only way to know is to find out for ourselves
Ive seen enough to know that I have little intrest in taking an unnecessary chance.

When a better product exists, at a reasonable price, why buy one from a company with a track record for terrible results?

I can comfortably state one situation I'd take the Century *manufactured* rifle over another.... and that would be over an I.O. *manufactured* anything.

There is always a worse option.

I wouldn't say in my case that its "Hate" persay... more like casual disregard.

Have you ever owned anything from century?
Indeed, I have and Do.

But they are *imports* by Century... because I have seen and handled enough to know that the *manufactured* by Century arms are not worth the chance when there are better alternatives.

Manufacturing is not Century Arms strong point, and never has been.

*slapped together* by century and *imported* by century is probably more accurate lol -there aught to be a thread on how long the American and other rifles last like “hey I own X from blank manufacturer and this is how my gun has functioned with K thousand rounds through it” or “this is my X rifle from blank manufacturer and this is my experience” so we can see how the other rifle’s actually stack up with people here instead of YouTube reviewers

Fool me once, etc.

It's like buying a Kia. It will work for a while but there's a good chance of QC problems and it's service life will definitely be shorter than the standard Toyota you should have bought instead.

I remember when those came out people were scrambling for Polish parts to fix the problems they were having with them.

Century has earned their reputation over decades of poor builds and mangled parts kits, and deservedly so.

Battlefield Las Vegas has details like this on Arfcom. There's rifles they keep and even repair when the receivers crack and rifles they never bother to purchase.

All very interesting but I asked about current experience with a specific firearm. I'm curious if Century has managed to improve.

You won't find a lot here because most "AK guys" don't buy Century rifles.

Who remembers Century's:
-flawless uzi clones?
-the 50/50 (great/terrible) cetme builds?
-the reliable c308s?

Good times. I'd go for a wasr or GF3 over any century build just because of the negative CAI legacy it carries (look at this thread) and the availability/price of wasrs/GF3.

I have owned a century UC9 that worked flawlessly for me and now a VSKA pistol that’s also been flawless at 1k rds I just haven’t had a bad experience with century yet
