Been looking into buying a CETME parts kit to be my first gun build. The kit is relatively cheap and the process looks pretty straightforward from the research I have done. However I have not found an in depth tutorial showing the full process. The only part I am scared for is modifying the fire control group to be only semi, and avoid a lovely visit from the ATF. Really interesting in getting into building but want to understand the ends and outs before I invest money. Any help or advice you have would be very appreciated.

Pressing the receiver flats are tricky if youre going that way. Also, it's best to have a really nice tig welder for the process. The FCG isn't nearly as scary as it looks, there's been lots of info on that for G3 builds going back decades now.
I felt the same as you haha. A year later and I have a pressed receiver blank and thats as far as I've gotten with the whole build. Seriously I've built 2 other parts kits and I've not even begun welding or assembling my cetme yet. I'd say theyre a notch below a belt fed kit.
