Hi Folks. I've been out of commission for a while with a few medical / health issues but I'm back now (sort of) and I have a question. Have any of you had much experience with Hodgdon's CFE-Pistol powder loading 9mm copper plated bullets (115 gr or 124 gr)? If so, what are your thoughts on the powder: metering, performance, etc.)? Thanks.

Elmer

I’m new to reloading myself but I do use CFE.
I don't have a way to check velocity but my rounds are accurate on target, as accurate as I ever was anyway.
I like that it burns clean and it measures well in a Dillon Square Deal B reloader

Thanks NC Boy Scout. I have read that it is supposed to be a very clean burning powder and your experience seems to bear that out. There is not a lot of load data out there for using it with 124 gr but I'm told the 125 gr data (which is more plentiful) is okay to use. Thanks again,

Elmer

Thanks, AR10ShooterinNC. I plan to give it a shot (no pun intended) in a couple of days although it will be a while before I can get out to test them. I plan to use Hodgdon's starting load for the 125 gr and build from there in five shot increments. I'll post back with the results but, again, it will be a while. Thanks again,

Elmer

CFE and Titegroup are my go to powders for 9mm. I've been very happy with the CFE. Burns well, runs clean at the upper end of max charges, priced right, and readily available.

Very good powder for 9mm. Meters nicely in Dillon powder measure. I use 5.1 under 124 grain Rainier plated bullet for 132-135 power factor in Smith 929 revolver. 4.6-4.8 in Springfield 9mm range officer for similar power factor.
I think you will be pleased with it.
