I'll vouch for MMark.the engraving and knife is almost three years old. It's endured constant everyday farm abuse. Mark engraved it for me. This may have even been on his first machine.

Bump on this thread to keep it active for those 'infrequent' visitors...they may be lazy like me and just hit New Posts instead of digging through the forums.

Yes. Its a long road to figure out what person to actually get ahold of, and thats assuming they even want to talk to us. Ive wasted weeks on dead end phone calls

What if others volunteered to help and try to make contact?
500 is a lot, and, I hate to say it, but I dont think we'll get there. Not quite half way and most of the 'regulars' have posted already.
250+ more is A LOT. And I doubt yall want to buy $12k worth of lowers to sit on for a while.

Surely someone else would be willing to do a lower production run for similar price

I do wonder what a naked receiver would cost plus custom engraving at say qty 300.

Anyone know what it would cost to get a naked receiver? I assume that they will come serialized and anodized, but unfinished would be an interesting option and engage another vendor for coating.

@ncengravers.com setting aside the design for a min, do you have a sense of cost for the engraving? I know it’ll depend upon the design, but if something simple starts at $30 then this is probably a nonstarter.

How about the logistics? I assume that @Butter is all over this, but would they get shipped from manuf to @ncengravers.com and when do FFLs and sales taxes come into play?

I don’t think any of us would turn down having somebody else make inquiries.

They need to go to someone who has an FFL. I have the FFL lined up already, so final sales tax will go to that person

Did the poll close? Did you get enough interest? I’m in, but just saw the thread today.

Poll ran for two weeks. I think 222 is the count? So, we didn’t make it to halfway. Several people said they’d buy additional to meet the minimum, but even if everyone doubled their purchase we’re not there.

Holding out hope somebody else figured out a way to do it with a smaller minimum purchase requirement.

Yeah, 500 lowers for a site our size is pretty darn optimistic. But man it would have been awesome

Who have you contacted so far about making them? You can text it to me if you like

Anderson, PSA, someone else, maybe Joe Bob? Its been a almost 2 year process
Have you contacted them again and let them know that we are at about 250 and would they still make them for us?
Can't hurt, never can tell.

He said 500 is the lowest run they can do to even consider making it affordable, but no I haven't

Haven't inquired

I know they have done special runs for other groups. Not sure on the quantity required or price. They are in my area and I can stop by in person if you would like, just let me know.

Sure, I appreciate it. There's enough interest to check every outlet to make this happen

I'll go by there Monday or Tuesday. Let you know what I find out. Last I saw we have roughly a little over 250 right now?

I'm hopeful for Barnes. Local guys, right in the heart or our community, good products. They should be sponsors and maybe even offer discounts to buyers on other parts to complete their builds. I still happen to have some parts from them that I won sometime back, they had donated them to a drawing.

I'd get one at least for my very first build.
Maybe 2 if necessary to help meet a minimum.

yea, I think 250 is a decent number to throw at them

Hunter Elliot is gonna call Andrew and ask him for me. He and Hunter are great friends. I talked to Hunter last night about it. He kinda wanted to know what logo we would want on it. That’s important info to give someone though

I just saw this. I’d have been in for 2-3.

Standard patriot logo
Now we're getting somewhere. Might as well address the selector markings and Serial number questions so everyone will know exactly what they will be getting and the cost for each. Once we have this info, we can get a more accurate count.
