September's target will use some luck and solid holding on the top row!

http://accurateshooter.net/Blog/dots001.pdf

Rules same as usual. Rimfire at 50 yds. No mechanical rests. Bench or prone. Bipods or sandbags. Show pics of your range and rifle setups (for fun). Contest ends September 30.

Outer ring of target is only for reference. Dot in center is for scoring. Must touch the black of center dot to count as a hit. Point value per hit is posted below the dot.

Have fun!

I can't change the target. It's was something I found online. I'm going to use the outer circle as reference and hold my crosshair based on that. I'm hoping for around 10 points. Lol.

This will be interesting. No iron sights on this one that's for sure. I believe the outer circle is the key to this one using scope

Targets printed. That top row is going to be a hoot!

Question about scoring: are the numbers under each circle the point values? Seems like it, that way the small dots are weighted more heavily than the large ones.

Must touch the black of center dot to count as a hit/point. 15 points max.
Just curious...

Are those not point values below each target? Smaller the dot, the more points you get?

ETA: I was typing mine when previous post was made. :D

Yeah...similar to the 3/8" circles in July. I had to line up the crosshairs with all the other targets, as my dot covered up the whole circle.

I was all over the place on this one. I swapped my Outback II for a Rev9 in K config on my CZ452 this time around. Did some adjustments on the scope and practiced on one target. Shot on one for score. Total of 113 so far.

I need to shoot earlier or later. I was shooting right toward the dang sun and forgot my hat for shade. It was tough to see anything.

H&R M-12 rifle
BSA 8-32x optic
Wolf MT ammo
total = 152

That last dot was pure luck. At 32x, even an 1/8MOA dot totally obscured the target. Plus it was a bit breezy this afternoon too.

I don't think it was all luck. The misses are pretty damn close ... very nice shooting for you and that H&R! If you didn't post what it was I'd swear at first glance it was a Winchester Model 52.

The M-12 was a loose copy of the Win52 so they are similar. Been looking for a replacement stock for that rifle, but few folks inlet for an M12 these days.

I really wanted to take a crack at this with my Reminton 40X using irons!

Well I made it out today and lets just say it was not good. I blame the wind and my shaky old body! I just wish one time that damn wind would let up. Living on the coast I guess that will never happen. Will maybe post pics in the morning. Left the targets in the Van and I am to tired to go out and get them now.

Well went out to the Van and got the targets. Should of left them there. They were worse then what I thought. Lets just say my high was 144 and leave it at that. Great day at the range just a bad shooting day!

A bad day at the range is still better then a good day at work!

Is this just something you're challenging members to do on their own or is this an actual match being held somewhere? I bought a cz455 tacticool a while back that is begging to give this a go

Work! I am retired. Wait I work harder now then I ever did. That damn "Honey Do List" always gets bigger. It never seems to get smaller. I think my wife stays awake at night thinking of things that need to be done.

Managed to get out and shoot this today. I had to rezero my scope since I've had it off and I played with action torques. Finally started getting decent (but not great) groups so I gave it a shot. Still haven't found the one ammo my rifle loves but it was still a ton of fun! Aim small, miss small!

@nbkky71 Looks like you are the winner! Congrats!!! Now you get to pick a target for Ocotober

That target is set up for A3 paper. 16.5" x 11.7"
I'm going to do a Fit To Paper on 8.5" x 11" and see how small it turns out. :)

Thanks for the info. @nbkky71 started a new thread for October

Finally got out to shoot the November target today, and took a couple of these out as well. RAR 22LR with Sparrow, CCI SV and 2-7X scope. 128 followed up by an awesome 46!!

Also decided to get stupid and try my GSG 1911-22 with a Warlock...from 10'. Figured that's the max I'd even attempt anything this small. Managed a 33.
