had somebody ask me today if I was going to this, and I didn't know a thing about it...

The American Suppressor Association is hosting a Demo Day at Carolina Sporting Arms on Saturday. Details are here: http://csaguns.com/events/event/american-suppressor-association-asa-event/

I didn't see a mention of any cost, so I called a little while ago. Guy answering at the gun shop (not range) didn't think there was any fee, but definitely wasn't 100% confident in that answer.

Looks like reps from at least the following companies will be there:

  • Dead Air
  • Silencerco
  • Yankee Hill Machine
  • Daniel Defense
  • Sig Sauer
  • Freedom Armory
  • Rugged Suppressors
...along with ASA reps.

Event is 10a-5p, and there's a dedicated 12n-2p "no ear pro" block (I wear them anyway, at least some foam plugs).

Not sure if I'll get there or not, but maybe some of you can go check it out?

Looking more like I may make this!! Yay!!

Good times. Basically looked at some displays then hung out with Mike Pappas for and hour and a half. Talked shop a little, talked about the new NFA barcode system, and did a little shooting.

Would've been a real good Demo for some of those unfamiliar with cans. Lots to look at and handle, and no fee to shoot the demo products. Not too much of a crowd at all. Grabbed some stickers, patches and a pen.

Oh yeah...that @MadMardigan fella was there, too. He managed to get out the door without spending any money (I think) I dropped a whole $1.60 :D

Oh yeah...I'd never been to CSA before. Fairly pleasant experience. Lots of "all firearms must be cased and unloaded" signage but the safety video exempts LEO and CHP holders.

And forget universal concealed carry reciprocity, when can ranges agree to accept a CHP or another range's card and quit making me watch their version of a safety video? They did exempt Mike P as a manufacturer, but everybody else had to watch it and sign a waiver.

...and once again, nobody asked to see my NFA paperwork. I mean I only had ~25 NFA items with me, and had my binder and digital copies all ready to show!! But, but, muh stamps man!! :(

Sounds like a good time. Was trying my hardest to get down there but it just didnt work out. Maybe next time. They could probably better promoted it to draw a large crowd.

Anyone know if anything like this happens in the Triangle? Or the Triad.

If I get another ASA email for demo days I will post it.
One of the reps said he had another trip to Raleigh before the year was over. Not sure if it is an ASA event or not.
