It's all over the news, easy to find from whatever source you like to read. Chicago has sued Glock for making a pistol that is too easy to convert to full auto.

I'm glad the bad guys like Glocks. If they liked 1911s, Chicago would ban files!

Chicango should ban thugs.

The City of Chicago just wants to chug the Glock racing horses' seed.

"The lawsuit alleges Glock unreasonably endangers Chicagoans by manufacturing and selling semiautomatic pistols that can easily be converted to illegal machine guns with an auto sear — a cheap, small device commonly known as a “Glock switch.” The switches are the size of a quarter and are easily purchased illegally online for around $20 or manufactured at home using a 3D printer."

I hate Illinois Commies.

No different then GM building cars that can exceed 100MPH.

you had to know it was coming.
we talked about it before
the "easily converted" standard is dumb, and very open to interpretation. unfortunately it's the ATF who does the interpreting.
fingers crossed chevron works in our favor and they actually start paying attention to bruen

It would be oh so funny if the police force there carried Glocks, and suddenly no longer got any service anymore, Ala Barrett and California....
From what I found on the Google, Chicago requires officers to buy their own pistol and allows them to choose from most of the major brands (Glock, Sig, Springfield, S&W, Ruger).
That would’ve been great though!

It wouldnt suprise me if other manufacturers start getting concerned if this case gains any traction though... why would you be willing to sell *anything* to a place that is currently sueing a competitor in the same market, for a basic good that is made by various companies.

I know I wouldnt want to risk them sueing me after they hit Glock.

And there you have it.
The real reason for the suit.

It shouldn’t matter what they carry. It’s coming for ALL of them! Just quit selling to cities that are run by democraps and it will go away…eventually.

When will they sue Krispy Kreme? 🤔
It is Krispy Kreme's fault their doughnuts are too tasty and making me fat!

Same for Lay's - those Sour Cream n Onion chips . . . yumm!
"betcha can't eat just one" - their marketing slogan even admits it!!

CA is trying to force auto manufacturers produce cars that can't speed:

Good thing IL has all those gun laws to keep criminals from possessing/carrying in the first place..
Seems like it has been very effective 🤮

I didn't know there was such a thang as Donut Switches...
I toured a Krispy Kreme bakery with my third grade class in or around 1964.

It gave the term “Hot ’n Now” a whole new meaning.

I can assure you, there were donut switches.

:D

they opened one across the street (right where the overpass let off) from my elementary school back in about 1990 - the days of 39c hamburgers.
they had a walk-up window.
much allowance and mower money was spent getting a burger, or fries, or a drink to enjoy on the walk home from school.

Chicago is big on stupid ideas. For example check out this dumb idea.

An Illinois lawmaker has introduced a bill that would prohibit police from pulling over drivers who speed up to 25 mph over the limit and commit other traffic infractions.

Illinois State Rep. Justin Slaughter (D-Chicago) filed House Bill 4603 on Monday.

The bill amends the Illinois Vehicle Code and prohibits all law enforcement officers from conducting traffic stops on vehicles throughout the state for a variety of offenses.

Those offenses include speeding up to 25 mph over the posted speed limit.

The bill says officers can only stop drivers who commit felony or misdemeanor speeding offenses.

In Illinois, speeding 26 mph or more over the limit is a Class B misdemeanor, while speeding 35 mph or more over the limit is a Class A misdemeanor.

The bill says officers who do stop speeders traveling more than 25 mph over the limit cannot use any evidence obtained on the stop at trial, even if the evidence was obtained with the consent of the driver.

The bill additionally restricts officers from stopping vehicles that fail to display license plates or stickers or operate with an expired registration sticker.

Slaughter’s bill says that officers also cannot stop drivers who commit improper lane usage or fail to comply with requirements relating to vehicle lamps or have excessive tint or defective mirrors.

Vehicles that have obstructed windshields, defective windshield wipers, defective bumpers and excessive exhaust are also not allowed to be stopped.

Drivers who do not wear a seatbelt are also safe from being stopped under the proposed bill.

Given all the stupid in that bill, people will simply not register their car for a license plate, and keep it under 24 mph over. This means you can hit that school zone at 44 mph, cruise the highway at 94 mph, and drive away from crime scenes you created with no way for witness to identify the unplated vehicle.

Fine.

Looks like the Chicago PDs sidearm of choice is the Glock 17. Let Glock pull a Barret.

And, looking back over the years, I'm not seeing stats that show this full auto conversion has caused an increase in gun violence/deaths.

I doubt it would, it probably saves lives because they are hitting even less than before they went full auto. More concerned about bystanders.
