Went to CF about 2 weeks ago, had to drive through. About 4pm, not busy.
They had 2 lines all bordered with hundreds of orange cones. Once in line, you weren't getting out unless you drove over them cones.
They were very efficient. Girl took my order, drive forward, young man comes running, running, out of the restaurant with my order.
I hated it.
It was completely a production line in/out and had no personality. I get it, they're a busy store..it's weird times. Understood.
They placed the cones which redirected you past any menu's. Couldn't see a menu before you ordered. The girl looked at me incredulously when I asked about a menu; "You want what?"
Seriously? That was just plain stupid. I have lots of things to remember and the CF menu ain't one of them.
Employees all wore masks, looked like robots and acted like them too. There was no interaction beyond order taking. No greetings, nothing. Place your order.
I don't need or want to banter all day, but you could at least say hi.
The whole experience was the same as if you were a production part being passed through a machine.
You really don't have to be smart to run a corporation. Just shuffle numbers and insist subordinates adapt without guidance.
This dempanic has really shown who is able to adapt and who isn't. Places get so ingrained into 'the regular' that when you throw them a curve ball they lose their ever loving minds and it's like you're back in kindergarten with a bunch of kids that have no idea of what just happened to them, and they cluelessly start throwing crap at anything hoping it sticks.
CF wasn't the worst of them, but they sure as hell weren't the best either. Perhaps the CEO should earn his pay by taking charge, getting feedback from stores, and adapting a plan that goes beyond just a panicked response and into a level of service that shows a comprehension of what's happening. But he instead chooses to adopt a holier-than-thou attitude and finger-wag and denigrate me for something I have nothing to do with or any ability to correct.
Sweet. Awesome business model.
One that I will remember.
