No big surprises here. Color me shocked Dicks Sporting Goods ( I didn't forget the apostrophe) is on the list. I've never heard of any of the smaller companies.

Also slightly amusing seeing Reddit on there. I've bought more guns from r/gundeals than just about anywhere else.

Dear Members ofthe Senate :
Our hearts are with the victims, their families and loved ones and all those affected by the tragic shootings ElPaso and West Texas , and Dayton, Ohio . These families becamemembers of a club that no onewants to join : the millions of Americans whose lives have been forever altered by gun violence.

Every day , 100 Americans are shot and killed and hundreds more are wounded . These are more than mass shootings; in recent weeks, gun violence has devastated Chicago, Canoga Park, NewportNews, Gilroy and Brooklyn, among others. This is a public health crisis that demands urgent action. As leaders of some of America smost respected companies and those with significant business interests in the United States, weare writing to youbecause wehave a responsibility and obligation to stand up for the safety of our employees , customers and all Americans in the communities we serve across the country . Doing nothing America ' s gun violence crisis is simply unacceptable and it is time to stand with the American public on gun safety . Gun violence in America is not inevitable ;it's preventable . There are steps Congress can , and must take to prevent and reduce gun violence .We need our lawmakers to support common sense gun laws that could prevent tragedies like these .
That s why we urge the Senate to stand with the American public and take action on gun safety by passing a bill to require background checks on all gun sales and a strong Red Flag law that would allow courts to issue life-saving extreme risk protection orders. Background checks and Extreme Risk laws(also referred to as "Red Flag laws" ) are proven to save lives. Since Congress established the background check system 25 years ago ,background checks have blocked more than 3. 5 million gun sales to prohibited purchasers, including to convicted felons, domestic abusers, and people who have been involuntarily committed . However, in the decades since, the law requiring background checks on gun sales has not been updated to reflect how people buy guns today. The Senate must follow the House s lead by passing bipartisan legislation that would update the background checks law , helping to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn ' t have them , in an effort to save lives. Background
checks on all gun sales are a common -sense solution with overwhelming public support and are a critical step toward stemming the gun violence epidemic in this country .
Perpetrators of mass shootings , school shootings, and hate crimes often display warning signs before committing violent acts. Additionally, people who end their lifewith a gun also often
show signs that they are in crisis before they act. Interventions in states with Extreme Risk laws have already prevented potential tragedies . Expanding Extreme Risk laws to enable families and
law enforcement nationwide to intervene when someone is at serious risk of hurting themselves or others is critical to preventing future tragedies.
These proposals are common-sense , bipartisan and widely supported by the American public . It is time for the Senate to takeaction.

Sincerely,

This is getting spooky/depressing with this many people crying to strip away Our Bill of Rights.
https://www.rollcall.com/news/policy/more-states-allowing-gun-seizures-amid-plague-of-mass-shootings

http://suindependent.com/red-flag-laws-violate-bill-rights-second-amendment/
Six of 10 Bill of Right Amendments are severely damaged by red flag laws with due process, the backbone of our judicial system, being the greatest fatality. This is certainly the greatest threat to the Bill of Rights since the Obama-sponsored National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, which already effectively neutralized Amendments 4, 5, 6, and 8 of the Bill of Rights.
Amendment I

Red flag laws encourage “police-led searches” of our social media, thus effectively “abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press” constitutionally protected in the First Amendment. Disagreeable speech is labeled “hate” speech, thus potentially “violent” speech, and is therefore deemed subject to the violation of weapons laws. Liberty ends when freedoms of speech, press, assembly, and religion end.

Amendment II
This amendment was specifically designed to protect the First Amendment, giving the people the ability to resist tyrannical government as the Founding Fathers had — even by revolution if required. Any law, state or federal, that threatens the Second Amendment as written by the Founding Fathers is unconstitutional. In New Mexico, that includes requirements for firearm storage and background checks for private firearm sales. In New York, it includes banning bump stock devices. In Washington State, it is I-1639, which “classifies semi-automatic rifles commonly owned for recreation and self-defense as assault weapons and prohibits young adults under the age of 21 from purchasing them.” These violate “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,” which “shall not be infringed.”

But red flag laws go further, potentially allowing thousands of innocent citizens to be punished only upon the fear that a crime might be committed. Secret lists of innocent people are created by family, acquaintances, and potentially disgruntled ex-lovers or spouses. Anyone can approach a judge with the claim that someone is a danger to himself and/or others, and a sheriff is sent to disarm and confiscate his weapons. Those identified are punished without having committed a crime. All of this is done without a shred of evidence of unlawful behavior.

Amendment IV

Amendment IV reads in part: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.” Today, computers and electronic devices are our “papers,” and “effects” include our weapons of self preservation. It is “unreasonable” and unconstitutional to confiscate them on the assumption that they may be used inappropriately. We might also wish to remove automobiles, knives, hammers, or medicines that they might use to harm themselves or others.

Continuing, “No Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause.” Heretofore “probable cause” was based upon evidence of having actually done something, not opinion that someone might do something. Again, there exists no crime! A warrant alone is not due process. “Supported by Oath or affirmation,” means by government agents who have sworn allegiance to protect and preserve the Constitution, which under red flag laws this action violates.

Amendment V
Amendment V reads in part: “No person shall be … deprived of … property, without due process of law.” Due process is denied thousands under red flag laws. None are charged with a crime, arrested, or convicted before gun confiscation. Without due process, all of our rights and properties are unsecured. It is that simple.

Amendment VI
Amendment VI lists the rights of the accused, the due process procedure entitled to all citizens, in “all criminal prosecutions.” Although red flag laws are not criminal prosecutions, they have the same effect. They accuse and administer punishment. They are “speedy” but not “public” as constitutionally required. No one is “informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; … confronted with the witnesses against him; … [allowed] compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and …[allowed] the assistance of counsel for his defence.” Where was the “impartial jury?” None of these four constitutionally required conditions are met prior to confiscation, as no crime had been committed. Those targeted by the government in “red flag” laws have no opportunity to resist confiscation.

Amendment VII
Amendment VII reads, “In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.” Twice mentioned is common law, the underlying principles of justice that govern all human relationships — natural law — whether fully understood or not.

This amendment speaks to property exceeding $20 in value, of which all guns exceed. Although largely fallen into disuse because of the now unrealistic money requirement specified, the amendment suggests the importance that common law and jury (peers) trials, rather than judges, make the decisions regarding property. Certainly red flag laws exempt juries and confiscate property (guns).

Dear member of the senate.
Listen to the 10’s of millions of everyday citizen who don’t won’t this. We have more votes than them but we can line your pockets like they do.

I hope people don't get lazy and decide not to vote in any election, every vote in EVERY election counts.

With that being said, we are moving towards a society where the left will have their stores and the right will have their stores. All this division being caused by the mainstream media and their supporters are going to cause capitalism to take over and alternate outlets will pop up for just about everything

Other than Levi's, I note a distinct lack of companies that actually produce a real tangible product. Lots of online Silicon Valley types like Yelp, Pinterest and AirBNB, one cruise line, and the rapists choice of employer, Uber. And the usuals like Bloomberg, Bain capital, and DSG.

FVCK all of them. They are added to the list. Which is sad, because I enjoyed giving thousands of dollars to Royal Caribbean.

The truly laughable part of this is that these CEO's somehow think the fact that they lead companies they have a sense that their title makes their opinions worth more than anyone else. Reminds me of people who insist on being called Doctor, or Professor as opposed to just their names. Hubris and conceit.

It’d be nice to have their emails listed to be copied into a Mail Merge letting them know we don’t appreciate them actively trying to tear down the foundations of this nation., Amendments 1, 4, 5, 6 & 8

Surprised that ban on ‘weapons of war’ was omitted from the CEO drivel.
Yes, that will be next right after the next mass murder if the senate and the president kowtow to these demands.

What's the hell's matter with you people? These are CEOs that have worked their way to the top. Of course they know what's best for us and what's good for the country. They almost know what's best for us as politicians and academia.

I’ve used DoorDash a few times over the last month. Won’t do that anymore.
contact their competition GrubHub or any of the half dozen others just like them and ask them how they feel about this, then patronize the one that answers correclty. Make sure you let DoorDash know how good their service is. I just did that with Royal Caribbean.

These pricks need to give up their security teams and gated mcmansions and go hit the streets of chitcago and we'll see how fast they change their minds about average Joe being able to carry a gun for protection.

Sen. Ted Cruz warned Republicans not to pursue expanded background checks Thursday at an event sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, saying that it could jeopardize their chances in 2020.

“If Republicans abandon the Second Amendment and demoralize millions of Americans who care deeply about Second Amendment rights, that could go a long way to electing a President Elizabeth Warren,” replied Cruz when asked about whether he thought President Trump would back a modified version of the 2013 background check proposal from Sens. Joe Manchin and Pat Toomey.

Cruz cautioned that Democratic turnout in 2020 will be “record-shattering” and Republicans shouldn’t do anything that would keep GOP voters home.

On a policy level, he said expanding background check requirements would also be a mistake.

“The Democrats’ proposal would not have prevented any of these mass murders. We ought to be focusing seriously, substantively on how you stop these horrific crimes and what they’re proposing wouldn’t do it,” he explained.

Time to file shareholder proposals if you own shares.

Just about 100% of these executives have 24-7-365 security paid for by the corporations they work for.
