Since we don't have a "reviews" section, yet...I'll post it here and move it later if we have one after the conversion. And since he does a lot more than just wheel guns, I'll leave it under the main Handguns section.

I was gifted my first revolver about a year ago. Never carried it, but kept it in a duffle bag that I carried two nights a week while driving street sweepers & washers. Finally decided it wasn't doing me much good that way and started looking for a holster. I've never carried OWB but have seen enough recommendations that I decided to contact @chiefjason to see what he could do.

The pistol is a Rossi R46202, 6-shot .357. Nothing I would've ever bought, but wasn't turning down for free.

After providing him a couple measurements, it's nothing like anything he had a pattern for. The cylinder is the size of a K-frame, but the gun itself is a lot closer to the size of a J-frame. The trigger guard is a little lower/taller/whatever due to the bigger cylinder. I met @Bailey Boat for lunch one day and did a test fit in his CJ K-frame and J-frame holsters. As you can see from this pic, the K-frame swallows the pistol, leaving excessive room on both the top and bottom:

We tried it in the J-frame (no pic), and it would go in but obviously wasn't a good fit due to the larger cylinder, and being a little bigger in these dimensions:

So, after talking to Jason, I decided to take the hour trip to his house and let him custom mold one for this pistol. Didn't take too long, mainly waiting on the leather to moisten up and then dry afterwards. I left after it was molded up and he handled the stitching, staining, etc and it showed up two days ago. A true work of art, and a perfect fit:

I've worn it every waking moment for the last 48 hours, and my only complaint is why I waited this long?

So, I did what any sane person would do, and mailed him a check today for a holster and mag pouch for my EDC G23. Have no doubt I'll be just as pleased with the next one as well.

Dang that looks nice!

No doubt. The contrast stitching is nice. With the black ones (which is what I ordered for my G23) he said he usually does black stitching.

I wavered back and forth with the new order, considering something exotic like ostrich or stingray (I'd seen one somebody else posted with a stingray panel), but decided to go plain leather. Maybe I'll go with an exotic for my next one, for those times I need to class it up a bit.

Looks great. Well done.

Question...is it molded "pancake" style or is it flatter on the side against your body?

Does he have IWB options?

They are flat when new (except for the leather molded around the gun), and break in to fit you after carrying a couple of days. So they are curved after breaking in. If that is the question. I think I've had about a half dozen of these. Great holsters. See both OWB and IWB options at the link.

Well dang there goes how ever much money it costs to get me a Glock 23 holster.

Thanks for the review and glad you like it. That is an odd little gun.

I make mine flat on the back, IWB or OWB. They wear really well because of that. Seems to pull in nicer and not get some of the pinch spots you might get with a pancake molded on the back. Once they are broken in they are molded to your carry position so they will be curved. Kind of like a hybrid holster in all leather.

I thought I recognized that bench, I don't recall you taking the pics though.... Anyhow, I have had CJ holsters for quite some time now and just 2 months ago I replaced the one I carry every day. After 7 years of every day use it began to sag a little.
With that said (and I'm big on cost analysis) let's analyze that statement, 7 years = 2,555 times it was carried. I carry from the time I put my pants on until I take them off, averages about 15 hours a day = 38,325 hours that it has carried my 1911. Now that really nice holster cost me 60.00 so to continue the cost factor that's .02 cents per day to have a first class holster protecting my gun.
What else can you buy that has that quality and longevity??? Get yo butt over to the www.chiefjasonholsters.com and treat yourself..... GO, GO NOW!!!

Awesome review!
I think I have 5 of his holsters and his work is top notch. I need to pick up a few more as soon as I get time to get over there.

And the fact that you make them flat on the back really helps insure a personal fit to the owner when received. They do pull in nicely which eliminates any bulky or ill-fitting spots on the new holsters. They really do mold to your carry position as you describe above chief.

From one very well-pleased owner.

After going to the mailbox with anticipation the last couple days, it finally paid off today. Found a package from one chiefjason waiting for me. I've worn the Rossi almost every day since I got the holster, and now I can go back to my normal EDC most of the time. G23 holster and mag pouch. Going to see what it's like with a 22rd mag in the pouch. As expected, perfect fit and fine quality.

Opened the box, put it on, inserted Glock...then headed to dinner and met some friends to take the kids bowling. Made it the whole night with the G23 and 22rd spare mag on the belt, just jeans and a t-shirt.

Just got another all leather pancake for my baby Grock and mag carrier from the Chief. Perfect fit and the belt slots break in in a couple of days wearing it all day. All good stuff, all the time.

Just ordered another one for my new Sig. I'm surprised we still have members that DON'T have one of his holsters yet.

That's the spirit! lol

Chief has made four Holsters that I have owned. Every single one has been made with extreme attention to detail and quality. Some holster makers make Holsters "for other folks to wear" but when you get one of Chiefs you get that "The craftsman made it for himself, and is letting me have it" feeling.

With the pancake holsters I make what I like and what I wear. So that pretty much sums it up. Apparently I do OK with IWB too. Just can't stand to carry that way unless I absolutely have too.

Got my Chief Jason for my Sig 938 last week and it was love at first sight. This holster had no retention but holds the gun securely in place, this is only my second but I'm sure they'll be more. Not posting a pic cause my pics wouldnt do it justice. Always a pleasure doing business with him.

I've got a holster and mag pouch on order for an HK now. I'll have to spend some quality time with it hiking up and down hills in the mountains to give it a real test. I'll post pics when they arrive.

Got my shipping notification for my Chief Jason holster. I'll post some pics as soon as I am able. Looking forward to getting it.

I just ordered a pancake CJ holster for my Glock 22. I think @Chdamn said he carried a 22 in a CJ holster and of its good enough for him it's got to be good enough for me too. I already have a CJ holster for my Glock 26/27, and it's the bee's knees.

I do. Every day. It prints a little but I don't really care.

Same with my G23.

The wheel guns barely print in comparison.
