The apartment this time is the closest possible to the office.
    Most security too.
Need a key card to get in and the elevator will only go to the floor the card is coded for.
Got in two 6.4km swims so far.
Yesterday when i wad done one of the swim instructors asked if I could swim a lap with his 9 year old student. The kid got a kick out of it. Lots of the kids speak English now. More so than the adults. A couple of teenagers translated.

My room for this trip. Hopefully any remaining trips. Location is worth the various other short comings.
The desk is my "supply depot."

Thanks for sharing the photos from your trips.
I find them interesting, especially looking into the backgrounds at what to most are just everyday things.
For all the "differences" between us across the world we are still very similar on a day to day basis.

Very little of "traditional Chinese" anything can be seen outside restaurants.
    Clothing is mostly European.
Traits that can be called "human nature" are obvious and it explains why communists rulers inevitably resort to brutal force to enforce compliance with communist rule (A fact conveniently ignored by this living in the US who call themselves communist).

Is this airprane inspired by the Jeep slogan,
"If you can read this... Roll me over" ?

    My thoughts too.
    Funny story.
A friend was out with a group. One guy with more balls than brains and brand new lifted Rubicon, had the "....roll me over" sticker.
Well, he rolled out on a rock after ignoring the spotter. Guy with the video camera runs up and zooms in on the sticker.

Yep, and almost everyone really wants the same things in life - peace, happiness, loving relationships with family and friends.
We really aint all that different.
But dont listen to politicians, they'll tell you differently.

Fish - keep em coming, take some random shots while youre there of the city, the people etc
Again, just to see how different, or similar, we are

Selfie with one if the security guards. This guy has an easy smile.
    And sombre lotus.
Also, evidence that Mexican Lucadors are committing cultural appropriation.

Tell us about the mask you wear.
I've read a lot about the air pollution there.
You of course have real experience with it.

That is due to be allergic to so much of the pollen here. I've gotten 3 lung infections after exposure to pollen here. In each case coughing started more than a week before getting home. Got deeper ands turned in bronchitis by the time I got home.
Now I wear a mask any time I go outside because I don't know if pollen level will be high enough to cause an allergic response.
I also now have to wear it at home when doing weeding and other yard work.
I also take xyzal and use prescription flonase.

Awesome pics! Wouldn't a sub-forum dedicated to member pics taken in other countries be an awesome idea?!

I've started wearing disposable paper 3M masks for grass cutting. Looking like a weenie is easier than being miserable for a few days after each cutting!

I have done the same starting this Spring. I skipped the mask last time I mowed and regretted the next day.

I may actually go to a more robust rubber/permanent mask to get more comfort. A few hours under the thin elastic straps and metal nose bridge starts to get uncomfortable. Not sure if a more "real" mask would solve that...

The mask I use has a replaceable charcoal filter. Two exhale valves. And it is fairly comfortable. Got it on Amazon.

It looks like it'd get hot...like it's made of wetsuit material and would not be comfortable during a 95 degree lawn mowing.

This is typically as clear as it gets here in Shanghai.
Combination of moisture from being a coastal city and smog.
Some days it is clear blue. But not many.

Street vendors have become highly regulated in Shanghai. Almost none around now. No more crowded corners near the metro.
A few housed in mini trailers. But that food is far too "local taste" for me to dare trying.

This was from my first trip to Shanghai back in 2014. A rare clear blue sunny moment. It was raining 30 minutes later.
The building in the middle is the second tallest in the world. It was still under construction then.

It a was really out of hand 4 years ago. Naturally govt went to the other extreme.
Of course, restaurant owners loved it.

I'm going back home July 18.
What part of this massive city will you be in?
I'm near Jinke station on Line 2 of the metro.

Trip tip, if you have a China phone, just use it for a WiFi hotspot.
