Chinese factory air smells like Ass+

I rode mine around in the back of the truck for a month before I would touch them.

I think they're using old tires to make rubber parts. I bought a replacement HEPA filter that smelled like a GD dumpster. I wound up throwing away the whole air purifier.

Reactions: Me.
bought a couple of their 80/20 wool blankets for south of $10 a piece. They must've washed that stuff in the strongest anti-moth chemical known to man. Took them straight to a laundrymat and threw them in a speed queen with a cupful of no-scent hunting laundry detergent along with some fabric softener.
They're soft and smell great now. If you buy stuff at Harbor Freight and don't expect to put a little effort into it, you're missing the point.

Harbor Freight sucks. Why must we love cheap, disposable crap? I have a screw driver I borrowed, eehhhh stole, from my Dad. It is probably at least 60 years old. No comparison to modern imported crap. Disposable tools suck.
Thank you for mentioning HF. Now I remember why I opened up a new browser window. It’s been sitting there for half an hour because I had no idea why I did it...but I was reading another thread and wanted to price check something. :D

Yep. I still have some tools from my dad that were used already when he got them back in the 1930's. When I was wrenching for a living as a young man, the pros I knew bought snap-on ( they were tool poor guys with very shiney tools ) Mac, Proto, Williams, S-K, etc. When they had a need for a disposable hand-tool tool they went to Sears and bought Craftsman due to the "no questions asked warranty". Torched, beat on with hammer, over torqued till it split, etc. and returned for exchange or refund.

Seems to me thats what the Harbor Freight stuff is now, minus the Craftsman quality, but instead of returning them they get thrown out.

HF is good for some things (zip ties, electrical tape etc), but I dont go there for things that I plan on keeping a long time.

And, I think most of the STORE smells bad, not just individual things like the OP listed. It's like a 100 of those bungee tubs were opened
