Finally got my CHPWS GL-RSH plate to install my 507C-X2. Get all my crap setup, torque wrench at 10in-lbs, install the plate to the slide, and then set the optic, go to tighten the Holosun screws on the T-nut...CRACK. Obviously I'm upset but that's not where this ends. I go on their website to request a replacement, and while searching their site, I see this...

Within the past few weeks we discovered an issue with a batch of T-Nuts. If you have silver t-nuts and you’ve had an issue with them breaking under torque during install, use this link to order a free replacement set.

We have recently brought the production of T-Nuts in house in order to ensure the highest quality and to prevent any delivery or schedule issues.

Thank you for your patience. Customer satisfaction and Delivering Top Quality parts are our highest goals.

Okay, cool, so it's a known issue and not my torque wrench. The T-nuts are "free" right? Sure...but shipping is $10 freaking dollars!

They're charging people $10 to ship these little things out that can go in an envelope with a stamp. - So now I'm in the predicamet of spending my time fighting with their CS over the phone to try to get reimbursed for $10, or just hold my nose and pay it. Needless to say these guys suck.

This is my first experience with them, so I don't have any previous information other than what people say. I see both good and bad all over about them, however, I can't say I'm impressed. I noticed when checking out their prices previously they have insane shipping and taxes on their site, they even had like a "special tax" on top of sales tax. It literally said "special tax" on the cart page.

I really hope they get this sent out quickly and it actually works this time. If it breaks again this optic is going up for sale. I'll get a 509T since it doesn't use T-nuts. Should have done that in the first place, but I got this as I wanted the option to potentially use an RMR.

I added a note on the order page requesting to be reimbursed for the shipping as this is a warranty issue. We will see how they respond.

I’m not sure it’s legal to charge something called “tax” that’s in excess of the local sales tax.

Thanks for the warning, that's a brand to avoid

The total of those 3 taxes represents 5.75% on the item and shipping. Or, 6% on the item alone. Seems to me all they’re doing is breaking down all the individual taxes that comprise what we know as Sales Tax. Seems fair to me.

Maybe, but do you see those shipping options?

I bought a plate from them long ago…

They sent me unthreaded T-posts. Took two weeks to get replacements, but they at least didn’t make me pay shipping.

I had to pay shipping for the t posts.
Did you request reimbursement?

I paid for it, but added a note to the order. It's just kind of a "well, you got me" situation. Either I burn time fighting with CS to get them or I just pay it and hope they honor my request. - There should be a coupon code available for anyone ordering just the t-nuts.

I didn't. I bought the plate used.

Regardless they should cover defects, that the entire purpose of a product warranty - used or not. I'd request it. I'm in a similar position as I bought this from a 3rd party.
Honestly it didn't even cross my mind to request it. I should have. I was cursing myself, doubting my torque driver and was relieved to find the replacement. Good luck!

I bought some MOS -> 509T plates and both were subpar quality. I can forgive machine marks, but the specifications were off enough that it seems the 509T's clamp would not actually sit flush and was instead being secured down at an angle. Basically, the "lip" that the clamp grabs onto has too much material. I ended up breaking a 509T cross bolt as a result. I emailed CHPWS about it and never heard back. I plan to eventually sand these things down until they're within spec, but I'll never buy CHPWS again.

Well, the hardware arrived. They gave me two sets of t-nuts which is good; unfortunately they ignored my emails and the note on the order requesting reimbursement.

Installed fine, no issues with deez nuts. That said, last product I buy from these jokers.

+1 to whichever one of you recommended the Wheeler FAT wrench in one of my other threads. Works very well.

I hate seeing the Holosun logo. I need to sell this off and get an RMR. I just can't handle the chinesium

Somewhat related - how do you guys apply VC3 to tiny screws without applying too much or making it super goopy? I bought a bottle of this stuff thinking it would be easier to deal with than Loctite, but it has its own difficulties before it dries.

This should be a whole thread of its own. I think probabaly everyone on CFF agrees though that 1) we'd rather buy American and 2) the American options are subpar feature-wise.

Quite literally the only reason I went with this was because of the battery tray. Should have just gone with a 407C because the other reticle options are wasted on me.

I hate the idea of having to go through the mounting process each time I do a battery change. Even if it's just once a year that's kind of frustrating.

Agreed 100%. Was hoping to see something from Trijicon at shot show, but nope. Just more Holosuns that put American made options to shame.
