I like working and building things:rolleyes: so my wife said to build a Creche for one of our daughters. We bought some figures from a great mail order company out of Italy earlier this year. To get the scale correct I mocked the basic dimensions using a box. After that it was all on the fly. While rustic, it's not historical correct.

Turned out pretty good. :) Now she wants one... :( I might...

Except for the base the wood is cedar fence planks planes down to 3/8" (+-) on one side. Then ripped as needed to make the planks and beams.

Yes, that's a bird nest on the top left rafter.

Nice work.

Ever been to Bethlehem? Don't worry about "historical" accuracy. All the "stables" were basically extra space in the caves to put your animals while you slept in another cave off the main cave. Usually the mangers where the animals ate from or drank from were stone troughs hollowed out from the large chunks of stone/rock mined when digging out the caves. So make yours as pretty as you want it for your daughter.

I got an idea.
How about putting that outlet and switch back in the wall with a cover plate?
:p
Sorry. Electrician.
Your wood skills far surpass mine though. Nice work.
